this

literally why would you use anything else

because they're wintoddlers

not everyone is a linuxfag

mac and linux can both use dd natively without hacky workarounds
only wintoddlers have problems using it

dd works on bsd, haiku and hurd too

what's the problem with dt anyways? it just works.
whoo got me there bud.

cdrdao

imdisk

For making a cd image, mkisofs. For reading a cd image, mount.

Bonus: On bsd, tar can read an iso as if it were an archive.

I am tempted to buy 400GB micro SD card to use as encrypted EDC system image just for the heck of it

Should i do this or is it a bad idea

#make-iso-of-cd
dd if=/dev/cdrom of=cd.iso

#make-iso-of-directory
mkisofs -o /tmp/cd.iso /home/user/directory

#mount-an-iso
mkdir /mnt/iso
mount -o loop -t iso9660 filename.iso /mnt/iso

alcohol 120%

Jesus Christ is just occurred to me why it's called that.

Because of the company being called Alcohol Soft? Or do you actually think it's because they associate ISO with Isopropyl alcohol?

High-proof alcohol burns when you drink it.

So are you saying that this program will burn your CPU while you burn DVDs?

now that was the shit to burn those psx games

guise where do i download more ram

>Implying Nero Burning ROM is a bad name

If it was made these days it would be called Brnr or Burnly or some other gay shit like that.

The reason people used Daemon Tools or Alcohol back in the day is because they could emulate SafeDisc, Securom etc drm

imdisk is pretty useful if you need floppy mounting too

this is a dream

>His OS requires non-native software to mount .iso files
yikes

Daemon, but one that actually works

Based gyaruposter

I still use it for the same purpose, among others.

dd or mount -o loop

I remember I was trying burning disks using some default tool that came with mint kde few years back, and everytime I burned at the end I got some error, I thought my burner was fucked, later I found out that default tool had a known bug and they still included it in the distro

This. /thread

dd can't mount

mount can... OP asked for

>disk image software

>#mount-an-iso
>mkdir /mnt/iso
>mount -o loop -t iso9660 filename.iso /mnt/iso

I'm guessing you're a clicklet that wants your program to take minutes to open and has a built in web browser?

>ROMe BURNr when NERO was Emperor

Its shitty pun: the program

>NERO
>mfw I finally get the pun behind the name of that program

It's either common knowledge or a mind blow job.
