name a CRT that has a displayport connector.

>wants to introduce input lag
Why?

OP degenerate

>what is a modern graphics card.
the manufacturers are the ones who dont include analog outputs.

>wanting to rely on old used GPUs, or new GPUs with expensive adapters

yea no thanks.

You use the iGPU to output, the dedicated GPU to render. Not that hard. You can even do this to get freesync with nVidia, or to use mining GPUs that don't even have an output.
youtube.com/watch?v=TY4s35uULg4
Even Linus Shill TIps knows about this.

Attached: 1521913021530.png (935x717, 1011K)

Why not go for rock carvings? Even less lag and sharp as can be.

Attached: 76490-004-32E6C353.jpg (550x349, 41K)

Mate like nobody fucking cares my pc is fucking sick like neck yourself.

>iGPU
what makes you think i would own a system old enough to have an iGPU with an analog output?
also:
>he needs to replace his entire board just to upgrade GPUs.

I can't score lower than 10ms on flood's input lag test and I'm in the 0.01%. If you're like most people you can't even tell a difference.

That said, why not just use a 240hz panel?

>2019
>Still using a Core 2 Duo
It's installing Gentoo (extremely slowly) as we speak
I hope to one day buy an i7 X230

Attached: core2duo.png (658x662, 44K)

Then use a display port to VGA adapter.

Attached: 81DO4BV8xML._SX425_.jpg (425x425, 12K)

SOME motherboards have analog iGPU outputs, but not all, and they're likely to be getting far less common as time goes on.

You're just looking for problems if you honestly intend to start running a CRT in 2019.

Why not just upgrade to a Q8400 or something. They can be found for like $20 and it would be a substantial improvement.

>the manufacturers are the ones who dont include analog outputs
MPAA and their obsession with HDCP

It's an old not-socketed Dell Latitude, so sadly that's not an option.
Gentoo's taking so long I'm tempted to nuke it and install Void.

Attached: compiletimes.jpg (560x612, 42K)

Sadly CRT picture quality is utter trash compared to new display techniques but you better go to /v/ for an echochamber verifying le epic crt meme

UNSUPPORTED:
VSYNC is not available on the Linux platform.

Freetards btfo

VBLANK_MODE=1
you're welcome.

I see what you did there

Does nothing, seems to already be enabled.

glxgears -info gives 300 frames in 5.0 seconds = 59.883 FPS
vblank_mode=0 glxgears -info gives 36249 frames in 5.0 seconds = 7249.766 FPS

>59.883
this is Vsync. it is stopping the render of the next frame until your display has finished drawing the current one. you monitor appears to draw 60 frames per second. the small dip of .117Hz is within acceptable deviation.

I use a 144hz ips panel with no blb and no dead pixels or whatever
suck on it retard hippienigger enjoy your bulky shitty monitors

fucking LOL at gaymd

imagine buying their crappy shitty garbage cards in 2019, they're only good for useless shits who use linux

are you lost?

>144hz
lmao. 144hz doesn't fix motion blur

Reminder that even with backlight strobing LCDs are inferior to CRTs.

I'll just let my eyes blur it instead.

buy x5470 fore few bucks senpai i upgraded from c2d e8500 it is huge difference

ulmb is good enough for me

Yeah, this meme definitely went too far.

grug buy red rock to carve frame

this thread is fucking retarded but the saddest part is that you spend a lot of time doing that retarded image

the image is from blurbusters probably like all the others in the thread

>Asus PG278Q
Wait, that's the monitor I wanna buy for 3D Vision.

so this is why arcade machines look really cool because you literally see the pixels get replaced instead of that blur bullshit, right? that combines with low pixel count, bigger pixels/screens and lower framerates? no?
you know the feel, the looking at an arcade game screen feel.
both of you: fuck off cunt
different strokes for different folks

Instead of motion blur, with CRTs you get inherently fuzzy images.

>arguing with a contrarian neckbeard
Why even bother?

>mfw i will never have a Sony GDM-FW900 and even if i do find one it will fail eventually one day and they're out of production
i don't want to live in this LCD hellscape anymore bros

Acade cabinets probably ran at resolutions like 240p or even lower, which gave a scanline effect.
Pic related.

Attached: IMG_1193.jpg (2880x2160, 2.67M)

>what is a modern graphics card
GTX 980 Ti still has VGA output

Is that relevant for day to day use? I don't really care about retro games. I would guess that modern LCD displays static text and pictures better, due to higher resolution.

Attached: profile.png (943x943, 591K)

What did?

You can't have a passive DP to VGA adapter because the DP signals are digital and serially encoded. However making a DP to VGA adapter isn't very difficult

No, of course not.

Low Cuality Display

I only use Plasma or Oled

Attached: Adrianna Van Groningen - sO5dGsK5n1M - regular.jpg (4096x2732, 3.1M)

Do you play video games? Then yes.
Do you watch movies? Maybe.
Otherwise no.

PWM is a nightmare for people prone to headaches. I buy screens without PWM if I can help it.

Huge output latency

>neck yourself
Reddits that way buddy

what about the ulmb enabled?

more like

Attached: crt.jpg (938x329, 245K)

You shouldn't be playing a CRT through a camera, user

Give me an alternative i can buy brand new then

see

>tfw still waiting for mLED
>tfw first panels will be shit, even worse that regular LCD now
I will probably get a 1600x1200 or even 2560x1600 CRT one of these days even for 500€ or so (actually that's a low price for those) while waiting for good mLED screens.

>>Still using low quality consumer meme technology (LCD)
Here is a screen shot of that test on my shitty 200$ TN monitor I got years ago.

Attached: my shitty 200$ TN.jpg (2811x1623, 2.07M)

CRTs inherently had strobing. At least with LCD you have the choice of turning the strobing off.

>brand new plasma
>plasma as monitor
>oled as monitor

Just turn the refresh rate up
youtube.com/watch?v=hkbzzq8gOgY

TN panels are actually the best at this. But they are shit in every other way, so people go with VA and IPS panels that have blur issues on that test.

only faggot gamers care about CRTs today
dont tell me you still play videogames bro

Attached: 111234500042929.jpg (664x720, 98K)

my dad has a dell 2500x2000(something around that res anyway) trinitron crt that's been sitting a closet for 10 years after he stopped using it and won't let me borrow it. very upsetting to leave such a great monitor to rot desu

Attached: crying.png (929x929, 1.16M)

Plasma if used, if it breaks get OLED

Attached: 1493757577319.jpg (640x460, 123K)

The adapters aren't expensive.

>TN panels are actually the best at this.
No shit, that's why I posted it to show that even a cheap TN has pretty good motion clarity.

>But they are shit in every other way,
They are also the cheapest.
Additionaly TN doesn't posses a lot of the downsides VA and IPS have like the backlight bleed/glow and shit like that.

the fuck did you just say nigger?

Attached: IMG_7379.jpg (1280x853, 149K)

It's really not though. It's not quite as sharp displaying text, but it absolutely BTFOs everything other than OLED on color tone and accuracy, and blacks; and it lasts decades while OLED is practically guaranteed to have some visible degradation in 2 years.

Gosh gee, CRT is the only one clear enough to even make out pixels on. What is with all these faggots bitching about "blurry" CRT images?

omg SEE ARR TEE scanline orgasm omgg retrogaming goodness!

Attached: 1551875910106.jpg (242x338, 16K)

The only display that fixed motion blur is the Eizo Foris FG2421, but that technology is not compatible to memesync.

I wonder if there would be a market for a high quality CRT display today.

Good god user, adjust width, pincushion and trapezoid/keystone.

Using old and outdated technology does not make you an interesting person.

okay fixed it now, i just got this recently so i didn't fuck with it much

Attached: IMG_7380.jpg (1280x853, 187K)

good ones that can do high refresh rates are.

1050ti has VGA

>being this assblasted

>there are people on this technology board who can't tell DVI and VGA apart

Attached: forgot your hat.jpg (720x720, 57K)

You haven't done it correctly, but hardly anyone ever does since it's not made very clear on the page that there's a specific way the test is intended to be used.

blurbusters.com/motion-tests/pursuit-camera/

They run on the power carried by the DP cable. Easy to mistake that for passive.

That picture is completely wrong.

CRT draws the screen line by line horizontally. It relies entirely on brute force. Contrary to common belief among retarded /v/tards. CRTs have input lag too. (RAMDAC/DACs of your video card).

/v/tards who claim that CRT have no input lag probably never used an older/lower-tier CRT display/TV in their lives.

>Doesn't understand hardware interrupts
LMAO

The GPU can output a VGA signal over the DP pins though.
The adapter will only use passive components to signal the GPU.
Every modern GPU can do that still.

Displayport doesn't have any kind of backward compatibility with VGA. An active adapter is required. DVI-I can do what you're describing but that was last available on Maxwell cards.
