How does Jow Forums feel about the Brave browser? It's faster and uses the chromium engine. Can someone fact check it's aclaimed "privacy" features? Seems kinda snakeoil..

Stop shilling.
Chromium based browsers will always have to phone home in some capacity to Google. Devs will have to put in effort each Chromium update to minimize the amount of Googling that actually happens, but it still happens. Unfortunately Chromium is becoming the new web standard because morons installed Chrome and used Google for the past decade without knowing they were selling their souls to a corporation built on ad revenue and selling private information. Welcome to our dystopian future. (I use Brave btw, it's fine)
I use brave for my every day web browsing and i use el firefox for browsing the dank web
Vivaldi is better desu
That was the point of the post retard. I'm asking if it's any good or not
the amount of footprint you leave on web pages is greater than what ever a browser does, do if you use the browser to browse you should be more worried about the servers and nodes you connect to than your browser
Vivaldi is really good for low spec computers and laptops. I use Brave for porn browsing.
94% sure that user has a fetish for making people believe in shills.
Please stop shilling brave you make us look bad

Wow look at this user, http is spyware!! YOU MUST LEAVE FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY!!!!
Well fuck
0.01 BAT credited to your account.
They're there to make money. The more users they get, the more ads they sell. It's that simple. ANY argument or justification is just someone working for them or their agenda.
Just because I call out your shit sources doesn't mean I'm a shill. Go advertise your stupid autistic blog somewhere else
recommend me a browser only for shitposting nd youtube watching thats not a bloated shit
lynx
>Just because I call out your shit sources doesn't mean I'm a shill.
So. State it, honestly.
Are you working for Brave/BAT or are you benefiting from promoting or discussing them here or elsewhere?
See the problem with these threads is that there's rarely discussion ABOUT THE ACTUAL BROWSER AND IT PROS OR CONS.
It's usually just this level of discussion - with vague prompts like
>tell muh about Brave, is it any gud?
or similar - which immediatel;y leads me (& many others) to assume it's a post buy someone with something invested in promoting it.
Remember that they're out to turn a buck.
What's the cheapest and easiest way to promote your biz online?
Get people to "discuss" it in relevant forums...

It's shit
Interdasting that the previous response was within 4 min yet it's been 20 odd minutes and nothing from the guy claiming NOT to be a shill.
It's perfectly usable, as are most browsers based on well maintained browser engines.
Decent default experience, but I still prefer uBlock Origin + uMatrix to handle content blocking, no matter the browser. Although their blocker seems better than the in-built blockers you usually see with smaller browsers without addon support. Being Blink-based is somewhat problematic (not necessarily as far as botnet goes, but rather consolidating Google's monopoly in the browser engine market) and the half-assed fingerprint protection is disappointing for their alleged focus on privacy (especially when it comes to their Tor tabs; they don't even try to look like Tor). Don't know (or care) enough about their Token system to comment on it.
It couldn't be that I'm doing something other than look at this thread could it? No I must be a shill because I'm not on a Vietnamese basket weaving forum 24/7
>Are you working for Brave/BAT or are you benefiting from promoting or discussing them here or elsewhere?
No, are you the owner of spyware.neocities.org?
>It's faster
Faster than what, i use it but it definitively is slower than firefox.
Made by niggers, for niggers.
I finally switched off from Google Chrome about a month ago. Decided to try Brave first and it's extremely smooth and have had no issues so far which satisfies me
What extensions do you use? I've got a few and it's still snappier than firefox
OP here, i've been using ungoogled chromium as my main browser since i did some research on a good browser. It's just the chrome rendering engine without most of the google shit. The google chrome store doesnt work so you have to install the extentions by downloading the file first. You can set up a downloader by making a custom "search engine" and pasting in the extention ID. pretty neat i would say
>>Chromium based browsers will always have to phone home in some capacity to Google.
no
use ungoogled-chromium
>I heard you're tired of ads, therefore we got rid of them - and added our own ads instead.
no ty
>yo Dawg, we heard you hated ads so we builtin a deprecated adblocker AND a builtin tracking mechanism tied to to our p2p ad service so when you do decide to optin we'll know exactly what to bombard you with...
>tfwI 'm old enough to remember when adblocking was to save bandwidth on dialup...
Foss browser, privacy browser, newpipe if strictly for jewtube
Where did this come from?
this is just the daily paid shill pill
Brave and Qutebrowser are the only browsers worth your time.

>Mozilla teams up with Soros to censor right wing media and publication
Combating fake news is not censoring right-wing media and publications, unless you're admitting that a lot right-wing news is bullshit, and that conservatives are the biggest consumers of fake news on the planet due to being gullible perpetually paranoid simpletons (they are).
>Firefox installs Malware without user consent
An extension is not malware, and that was a one time thing so it's clear you're being intellectually dishonest on purpose to push your agenda.
>Telemetry can't be fully disabled in firefox
Yes it can. Now you're spreading that fake news that you seem to love.
>Mozillas main focus is to subvert meritocracy and promote diversity
You sound like a crankpot. By the way, the first usage of the word "meritocracy" was from a dystopian novel in the 50s.
>Firefox places ads on your home page by default
Your own link says "it was not a paid placement or advertisement". Try again.
>Firefox is maintained by Mozilla Corporation, whose main source of revenue is Google
Firefox is developed by the Mozilla Foundation (and the FLOSS community), which is non-profit. The Mozilla Corporation is only a subsidiary and is not involved with the browser development.
>shilling this hard for the googlag botnet
Stop fucking creating shill threads
Blink usually wins when it comes to repeated JS execution speed and rendering Google pages (although that has less to do with the engine, than Google sabotaging their websites for all other browser engines).
did you know I found freelancer websites that connect you to Indians like OP to create massive campaigns on Jow Forums and reddit like this and even get hundreds of upovtes on producthunt for a couple of hundred dollars? the world is now a big scam unfrotunately
I had an easier time loading videos on YouTube with Firefox on low specs but besides that Vivaldi was pretty solid.
