With NewPipe, at least last I tried it, I had to select before playing a video whether I wanted to watch it or just listen to the audio. If I watch it, it stops if I turn off the screen. If I listen to it I can't see video from any part.

With Vanced I just hit play and it starts playing, then I shut off the screen and it goes into audio only mode. I turn it on again and it loads the video and starts it playing along with the audio seamlessly.
