If someone has obtained access to all your info and is blackmailing you, what would refusing payment do? Think about it: what does the blackmailer have to lose if he dumped your info? Nothing. It is very unlikely you are his first victim, and he is either immune or unfazed by any retaliatory action you, his victim, might and can take.
In other words, what he chooses to do his entirely based on his whim. By paying, you are at the very least pleasing him to the point where he might consider letting you off the hook. The chance of avoiding social ruin is appreciably >0; in the other case, it is almost surely 0.

You are behaving very irrationally. You seem to believe you have a modicum of influence or power in this situation, that you are 'fighting' the blackmailer by denying him payment and delivering him a blow by ridiculing him for wasting his time and effort spent obtaining your info.
