are balanced cables a meme?
also could i not just jury rig balanced by taking the L/R RCA connectors from the back of my dac (that are currently connected to my speaker amp) and slappin some connectors for my hd600s on the other end of em?

does anyone have plantonics RIG headphones, i can a 500E on sale, but would rather hear what someone who has them has to say about them, i like decent bass and my setup is 50 inches away from my wifes setup, so noise cancellation is important
>inb4 headsets are shit
i know but is it decent for what it is

Attached: average_waifu.png (1016x541, 144K)

i am also very interested in these headphones

*clicks at you*

>also could i not just jury rig balanced by taking the L/R RCA connectors from the back of my dac (that are currently connected to my speaker amp) and slappin some connectors for my hd600s on the other end of em?
No.

>Buy pair of Beyer's
>No sounds out of left ear
>Jesus I paid $300 for these
>Open up cup
>Fucking wire isn't even connected, have to fix it myself
>Oh wait the cunts didn't leave enough wire in the enclosure to do that
>Send them back
>Get a new pair
>Same issue
>Fix it myself this time
Never again.

>things that never happened

should i get an amp for my hd6xx?
i have an origen g2 which CAN run them but would could they sound better with a 100$ dedicated headphone amp?

Attached: file.png (796x531, 228K)

You have so much imagination user
So much

>Should I buy snapheiser
Only if you like buying new headphones every year.

what thats not what i asked at all

japan (esp. stax) is the better axis

Attached: 1553619874172.jpg (1920x1080, 924K)

Why would i lie about something like this you stupid cunts. Pic related is one of the ears while i was working on the one with the chip inside.

Beyer is shit. Worst experience i have had dealing with an audio company. Shouls have stuck with Senn insteas of listening to delusional retards like you

massdrop.com/buy/massdrop-x-alex-cavalli-cth-tube-hybrid-amp

Even if you buy an expensive set of headphones youll still need to check your mix on common ones like Beats and of course a car speaker system.

>I took apart and ruined some headphones and then got mad that they were broken because I'm too stupid to put them back together
lol.

Absolute retard. You seem to think headphones are complicated. They're not, literally just chips enclosures and drivers. They work perfectly fine now after I fixed Beyer's fuck up. Stop trying to make excuses for their pathetic display of build quality.

>chips
You really don't don't have a clue...

You are retarded if you think any modern headset doesn't have an electrical board inside of it.

Stop arguing with brainlets.

Show us this 'chip' then...

This is what a main board inside a pair of headphones looks like, retard.

Attached: 1550910662662.jpg (1350x984, 163K)

>wireless headphones

>USB/bluetooth
u dun goofed

>Wireless
Any headset, anything with a microphone and any pair of USB headphones as well, as well as a lot of modern headphones that require an amplifier bigger than the shitty little DAC on your MOBO

This isn't /gamer headset/ general, you might be a little more comfortable on /v/.

fucking facts.

almost every single pair I've had has cracked around the bottom of the band.

I didn't buy them to game retard, or are you implying that having a microphone attached to your headset somehow means you can't have high quality drivers in them?

Any decently expensive pair of headphones will have an electrical board to handle incoming signal and amp from DACs.

No they won't.

I've had a pair of HD580's for years and no problems so far. Maybe you should stop treating your audio hardware like shit?

My AKG's do and they're not wireless, nor do they have a microphone.

Every other headphone I own is completely fine, it's just the shitty plastic senn's.

So you're comparing a cheap model of Senn's to an expensive pair of Beyer's or something? Nice Texas Sharpshooter retard.

This is probably the most retarded thing I've heard on /hpg/ congrats.

Is the srm 252s really too weak for the higher end stax headphones?

audiophoolery, reaches 110dB with the 007 just fine

Attached: staxamps.png (1753x909, 91K)

Thanks man. I just need a lightweight amp for overseas.

kingsound m-03 if you can find one

Redpill on STAX for newbies: STAX is an old Jap company with outdated tech that was considered high end back in the 1960s and 1970s but sounds like ass by today's standards, so they went nearly bankrupt. They were purchased by a Chinese company for just a million dollars who decided to market STAX to the audiophool "more expensive is better" demographic who buys those crappy $3000 vinyl players, they shill heavily on HeadFi and here on /hpg/, plus they pay Zeos to shill their crap just like Fostex does.

>In December 2011, Chinese loudspeaker manufacturer Edifier announced the acquisition of 100% equity in Stax

Oratory has measured the highest end STAX, the SR-009S.

dropbox.com/s/61srehjyaltd7w0/Stax SR-009S.pdf?dl=0

dropbox.com/s/dm0m6u3s3b4zqzl/Sennheiser HD600.pdf?dl=0

It's worse than the HD600. HD600 scored 92 and SR-009S scored 76.

Recently Rtings rated STAX across various dimension, it's worse in terms of sound than mid-priced offerings from Hifiman and Audeze, and only got a 7.7 rating.

In a separate study:

>The very highest end STAX ($4000 SR-009) was rated lower in blind tests than a $200 K701

To add insult to overpriced injury, they have shitty plastic build quality that you would expect on cheap chinkshit headphones:

Oratory (respected sound engineer) on the build:

Even best Stax headphones sound objectively worse than mid-fi. This is why they don't demo them in store, they rely on the internet to create a sense of mystique around STAX and shill it as the endgame because its expensive, Asian, rare and obscure. In reality its no bass sounding garbage, with shrill highs that appeal only to near-deaf boomer. And what they say is true, they have no soundstage.

Attached: 1546498796183.png (1027x1369, 784K)

headphones just cant sound like speakers. i have many headphones but i still prefer the speakers because they have a better soundstage and sound more realistic too. dont really know how to describe it but headphones put the sound in a smaller space or something so it sounds weird. good speakers play the music so well that you forget it even comes from speakers

I'm looking to get something to watch movies. Is there anything that does a halfway decent job of virtual surround or is it just another meme?

would not really call those skullcrushers comfy.

How big is your head? Those are among the most chill headbands around, combined with extremely soft pads. I can have them on my head with no music playing and forget they're there

Should I get the K702? Their price in Europe is fantastic atm, and they seem to fit my listening habits.

Trying to hunt down a headset or pair of cans I can add a boompro to for my gf. I'm looking for a closed-back pair since she gets disturbed by noise from people she lives with.

I've heard some people complain about closed-back headsets because they can't hear themselves talking. Is this just a matter of changing a setting in Windows/MacOS to hear the mic input? Any hope for mobile devices?

Do you know where I could get some 'summer friendly' ear pads/muffs for my Sennheiser HD201?
I use them at work and I'm starting to feel the heat.

only good beyers are 770s 880s and 990s

250s could have been good but every unit is flawed out of the box, 1770 and 1990 have shit sound

havent measured it. they just feel really bad after a while. i have some sennheisers that are light and wont feel uncomfortable but they sound terrible so i dont really want to use them. its also weird that the pressure is much harder on the side where the cable is

kys

Well you're looking at a good set already.
Get the Game Zero.

this is probably what has really happened

I was planning on it until I heard the boompro sound quality.

Get a MH751 or Takstar Pro82
Whichever is the cheapest as the MH751 is a clone of the Pro82.

They both can use the Boompro. The MH751 already comes with a mic but it's detachable.

I mean, they are pretty good but it's true what they say, they have pretty weak bass. I sold mine. Also they are huge so if you have a small head they may not fit that good.

Could you be any more wrong t. 770 and 1990 owner

Do you really need KGSS or can you stick with stax energizers?

Attached: 1389785142981.png (957x335, 233K)

how many times are you going to ask this question

there is nothing better user, really.

I didn't get a satisfactory answer last time so I'm trying again.

see

Two things already boss,
1. FR isn't the only metric of sound
2. Only stax amps

go buy your KGSS and fuck off

nice

KGSS amirite?

You mad bro?

Nothing better at sounding like mud maybe

it's just a waste of my time, change amps for $10,000-$50,000 cables
>FR isn't the only metric of sound
>These cables aren't the cables I'm talking about
