Actually not true. I went to a guy at uni in Auckland NZ who works at Google now. He did an internship with Mozilla and almost immediately went to Google in Sydney Aus and then Seattle at the moment I think.
He didn't have 5 years exp and NZ is a small country and I'm very doubtful we're in top 10 universities.
