No, it's not pushed to the server. Whenever you make a post or like a post the server gives you your server-side calculated score back. It's also updated server-side when your posts are liked.
There's client-side code to prevent you from liking more than once every 120 seconds, but even if you comment it out liking a post too often results in an error message in the console.
The system appears to be foolproof.
