I got fed up with headphone cables breaking all the time and interference noise when a cellphone is close by
so I went full autist and bought a couple meters of Carbokab 225, the fanciest cable i could find without going into full blown audiofoolery territory
the problem now however is that I can't find a 3.5mm connector that fits both the thick cable and into the recess on my headphones
see pic related the Hicon connector is too large for the headphones and the rean (even with the lip at the end filed off) is too small for the cable
any recommendations for a connector that fits a 7.5mm cable and is small enough to plug into a 10mm in diameter and 6.5mm deep recess?

Pretty sure shielded cables are designed to only be used with grounded equipment, otherwise the shield traps the noise inside.
At least that's the case with UTP and STP ethernet cables.

higher impedance headphones are going to require more power to drive to higher volumes, and the quality is not necessarily linear.
you may well find that high impedance headphones will lose their bass or other aspects of the sound quality if the power supply isnt enough.
this is talking *very* high impedance, like 150 - 200 ohms.
those HD 600's with 300 ohm impedence are going to require something nice to drive them up. IMO I would go for the RME ADI DAC 2 pro but it costs more than the cans so obviously not for you.
if you are getting dope headphones - with high impedence you are not gunna wanna skimp on your amp - however you could also get very high grade cans that arnt 300 ohms - maybe not for the same price though.
however, the setup you are describing - if you have no other experience with peak grade audio, will probably sound magnificent!
