windows 10

Gentoo.

I've never strayed from Fedora/Ubuntu. I don't understand why you would run an operating system that's been tested by fewer users, has less tutorials/help resources, and has more bugs as a consequence of the smaller developer base, reduced code scrutiny, and increased complexity of porting Ubuntu/Fedora code to whatever micro-distro you run.

Just why? "Low resource usage." "No systemd".

lol do any of your niggers really think that matters? My friend who works at Google has been wearing the same Redhat tshirt since he was 14. You think he was distro hopping in HS?

He's a senior engineer.

*ahem*
Void.

gtfo taco nigger

you realize that is not spanish, right, ignorant amerilard?

Distro hoppers make me puke. They just install a ton of distros to check out the UI, and have no use for an operating system at all. People like you and whoever made that pic could get all their computing needs from an android device. Fucking trendwhore bandwagon-jumping piece of shit, neck yourself.

Ubuntu is based on debian and rarely if ever do they contribute to upstream.
Congratulations, you played yourself.

Based

Gentoo, unironically.

That's what the fuck I'm literally doing right now. Removed my arch install.

ubuntu is objectively worse than debian.

Ubuntu at least doesn't autistically complain about missing firmware, even when using the Debian nonfree ISO.
So much for the "universal operating system".

>wire the computer temporarily
>apt install the firmware
>done

I've been using Manjaro for the past 4 years. Now what, motherfucker?

Nice, can you share your script to change the date?

Change adwaita icons and get rid of that Firefox toolbar, it's disgusting

Fedora, unironically. Even if it's the NSA distro of choice, they actually bother with security.

Now, if you want to avoid some script kiddy/other threats. If you want to avoid the NSA, Gentoo, unironically. But the only way to be 100% secure is to, well, pull the plug from your PC.

>being a ameritard
>don't know the difference between Spanish and Portuguese
Not surprise

i cant tell the difference between different breeds of roaches either
same difference

>rolling release
>non mediocre security practices
doesn't exist, but there is Fedora

I want to work at red hat it looks comfy af

>gentoo
>better security against big attacker
retard, if anything you will only try to make it as close to fedora/red hat as possible. By default it sucks dog ass and you take more time patching the vulnerabilities because muh compiling

been playing with linux recently, should I just go buy a laptop and install OpenSUSE finally?
VMs have been great but the mouse latency and other assorted bullshit detracts from the experience

> Ubuntu at least doesn't autistically complain about missing firmware,
It does not outweigh the bloat Ubuntu brings.

100%

I did this last week.
Now I am back to arch. Fedora annoyed me with all the unavailable proprietary stuff, which I had to go out of my way to get. And then I was playing some game on steam (yes I still play games fuck you) and Fedora always crashed on boss. But arch didn't crash, so here I am again.
Unironically thinking about ubuntu or debian testing.
Ubuntu is kind of a deal breaker though because of botnet stuff. I know it can be removed, but why should I bother?
If your rep is tainted, it's really hard to become trustworthy again.

Installing arch again :)

Do I need to be aware of any laptop brands that will fuck over my linux install?
I hear that some of the ACPI stuff on MSI and other laptops with make it a pain in the ass
looking at lenovo but their website ate shit apparently

I'm really trying so hard to get away from arch but I honestly can't find anything better.

>Fedora, unironically. Even if it's the NSA distro of choice
What you mean with this? Isn't Red Hat trustworthy and transparent with their shit?

>Fedora annoyed me with all the unavailable proprietary stuff, which I had to go out of my way to get.
Can you give me examples of this?

>My friend who works at Google has been wearing the same Redhat tshirt since he was 14
How smol is he?

>What you mean with this? Isn't Red Hat trustworthy and transparent with their shit?
it is, selinux is an open source project who was initially written by NSA though, I don't know what he means by of choice.
If anything, every organization which has data that is worth something; uses CentOS or pays for Red Hat.
>Can you give me examples of this?
Not him but I use fedora and you have to use a variety of methods to get software, unlike debian which is pretty centralized into the mirrors.
For example, I use copr, fedora default repos, and rpmfusion. In rpmfusion is where the codecs for multimedia are, and some other software that doesn't ship with fedora because of licensing reasons.
Or some things I build from source like acpi kernel module

Unironically this

my fucking god
Ubuntu -> mint -> arch (right now) with tiling wm
That picture aptly describes me

Last step:
>you realise that debian with backports is all you ever needed or will ever need

i3 i bet

This. Apart from their GitHub foul-up yesteryear.

That's true. Went to Testing for Steam Play, wouldn't recommend.

correct
I've also done ricing and am using pywal for colors. I use ncmpcpp and mpd only because they look cool even though they're so hard to setup and inefficient to play music.
I am having fuckin realizations here

Same. I'm having grub errors after installing fedora though.

lol like clockwork
here is your r/unixporn official beverage sir

Attached: 61nvr3XZ-jL._SL1500_.jpg (1500x1500, 71K)

clockwork really?
If you understand it so well, predict what my future would be like (really want to know where all of us pretentious fucks go)

implying i had the ability to tell your future what makes you think a pissant s o y boy like you is worthy.

tch ... I had expectations.
Looks like back to ubuntu it is for me after I am done with pretending to be using arch

>I use ncmpcpp and mpd only because they look cool even though they're so hard to setup and inefficient to play music
I disagree, ncmpcpp is admittedly a bit of a muh terminal music player meme but I find it pretty efficient to use.

You'll probably try out different window managers, dwm, xmonad, that sort of stuff. Then install Void or maybe Gentoo, try out some obscure distro perhaps and distro hop around a bit. Eventually you'll settle with something like Gentoo, fedora, Debian or *ubuntu.

no. keep larping as a sysadmin and post your sweet rice on r/unixporn. i think that is a better alternative you fucking plebian

>Then install Void or maybe Gentoo
Yes, had thoughts about installing void but couldn't get time
>Eventually you'll settle with something like Gentoo, fedora, Debian or *ubuntu.
Most likely
thanks

you're too edgy

>that guy is mean for no reason. He must be an edgy contrarion.
this is the mental gymnastics of an arch user.
