We had 1600p and 1080p T450's at work but boomer complained about the text being too small and hard to read. Come this year and many got renovated to 768p T480's.

It looks fine. I'm running 1280 x 800 on a projector. I know there are higher resolutions out there, but who cares. I'm ten feet from the screen. I don't see pixels from this distance.

Plenty of middle aged people complain that 1080P on a 13~15 and sometimes even 17" laptop makes the text and icons too small.

They then proceed to blow it up 125~150%
On 1366*768, they can keep it at 100% and not deal with programs fucking up when you blow it up 125~150%.
Also it makes it feel like a shitty GPU is decent when things run at 720P, also saves battery life as 1366*768 panels are less taxing to render, resulting in less GPU and CPU cycles while gaming or video consuming and lower heat output and less fan whine.

Compared to 1366x768 1024x768 is objectively inferior. You can't refute this.

A lot of cheap noname TVs have this as the native resolution. Apparently 1366x768 screens are cheaper to make than proper 1280x720 screens.

I lowered the screen resolution to 1600x900 and now it's actually at a perfect size instead of super tiny buttons. 1366x768 is just too small.
