does it matter if my CS degree is a bachelor of arts if my github is loaded as fuck

If it's really good, no
If it's ok, people here will tell you it's bad and will blame your arts degree and call you a trannie for that.
>CS degree is a bachelor of arts
uhh, what?
anyway, what matters is what you're actually capable of.
liberal arts college gave me a fat scholarship and I might attend there
but they only give out BAs
it's p good
right now I'm working on an init system in C#, see OP pic where I got dotnet to run in pid 1
github.com
I'm the sole contributor to both repos
Neat.
thanks user
it's also syntax compatible with systemd unit files
the project of the future to give Jow Forums the ultimate brain aneurysm
literally doesn't matter at all
Cambridge only gives out BAs and its one of the best universities in the world
>posting your RL github on Jow Forums
Enjoy not being able to get a job when you graduate because you turn up as having posted on Jow Forums once.
moot has a job at google, user
not a solid argument
also I'm a brown tranny which will get me into anywhere within the west
ty user
Jow Forums is not the dark web anymore, user.
>C#
kill yourself
really
>to give Jow Forums the ultimate brain aneurysm
That's clearly the exception, though, not the rule.
lol wut it never was
it is
Pretty cool user, I'd imagine you would want to use your art skills on software but it's still good
your github isn't really impressive desu
it's more impressive to be the lead contrib on a large project with a lot of stars/users/contribs than to have 10,000 toy repos, few people will take the time to look at the repos to decide whether they're impressive
english is monkey langiage
A good enough github should be able to get you a job. The degree is kind of irrelevant.
I'm not going to tell you to kill yourself.
I just don't understand how anyone can stomach C# and that ASP.NET bullshit.
i ran out of room on my 1 page resume to include my degree
ended up getting a senior job at a top 3 bank making 120k immediately after graduation without ever mentioning the degree once
definitely go to the cheapest place
I get paid $3500 a year to go to my school, would recommend
ultimately your projects will matter more than just having a degree. it's incredibly easy to get straight Cs and get a degree.
Let me guess you’ve never used either. C# is great
>uhh, what?
depends on the focus. math degrees are also bachelor of arts in most colleges.
some schools even have both. university of michigan for example has both liberal arts and engineering cs degrees
isn't dark web like deep web but with illegal stuff being posted there? Jow Forums isn't and never was either.
>but they only give out BAs
Then, it's probably not a CS degree. It's probably a code monkey degree.
why the actual fuck, with the amount of free resources on the web would you go to school??? employers always value practical skills and experience over schooling
OP make more stuff, you will get there, but it needs moar.
I have multiple full native desktop applications, libraries, and even products I developed for local companies (embedded c up to webscale!) but no degree
90% ghost me, people who take me seriously drop me for any candidate with a degree even if I smoke their technical interviews and do perfectly in their interviews...
Get, also how's turkey?
I don't even have art skills, user...
thanks tho
I know it could be better but I think I have enough large-ish projects on there, do I not?
>byteflood, bittorrent client, made the Jow Forums ranks back in the day (I was literally 12 when I wrote that)
>warpdrive is a VPN suite written from scratch, and it disguises your internet traffic and can work through transparent HTTP proxies
>bifrost is the protocol/library used by warpdrive to encrypt traffic
>nimp is a MIPS emulator (kinda toy-ish I suppose since it doesn't emulate a real MIPS platform, only the basic features of MIPS II/III, and it's even incomplete at that)
>sharpinit is an init daemon
then I do have a few toy projects on there like that password manager and file upload service but I agree that I should contribute to other repos more
what said
it's my stepping stone into the US, I live in Turkey right now which is a hellish shithole and since I'm a tranny there isn't really a viable future for me in here
>inb4 some variation of fuck off we're full
also, with the scholarship they gave me I'm only paying $4k a year out of pocket, room included, that's a pretty good deal I think
really fucking horrible, user :(
How is the software scene even in turkey?
>made the Jow Forums ranks back in the day
I remember you, you were literally just forcing it, making threads comparing it to gtorrent
>12
This was mid 2014, this means you're no older than 17, gtfo.
I turned 18 3 weeks ago
I don't really get involved, but a shitton of code monkeys
your lack of citizenry is the real dealbreaker for the US
what are your other options for unis?
No, if anything, it's even better.
>CS BA
Same shit. Berkeley does EECS, or CS BA.
>STEM
>Bachelor of Arts
hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha..
>this thread
>responding to namefags
Jow Forums is truly lost
both words were invented by YouTubers to make le scary clickbait videos of them dicking around on Tor
Stay in turkey to kebab wrapper towel head
Can you solve an employer's problems better than the next guy? Can you make them more money in the long run?
That's all that matters. Degrees are just a filter. If your Github is loaded, lean on that.
