Currently looking at 5t or wondering if I should wait til mid year phones come out to get shit cheaper

>tfw too stupid to understand the difference between (to) and (too)

5T is your best bet, either that or V30.

Wow, all this POOco shilling...

I recently got a new phone (lg Stylo 4) and it has very fucking weak WiFi connection. Is there anything I can do or should I just see about sending it back

Att/cricket best around 200 dollar phone? Alternatively MetroPCS if something is really good. Thanks!

>tfw too new to understand the meme

>got Xperia XZ1C
>a bunch of bloatware installed
>muh google services
>never rooted a phone before
what's the easiest way to root it?

Moto G7 Power or Moto G7, buy them from Best Buy so you can take advantage of their carrier discounts ($50 off if you activate it on AT&T, or $50 off if you buy it with a Cricket refill card)

Unlock bootloader -> flash TWRP -> flash Magisk -> flash DRM Fix Kernel.

Optional, high recommend - backup DRM key/trim area before proceeding: forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-xz1-compact/development/devonly-exploits-temp-root-to-backup-t3795510

Is it in a case? That might affect the signal. If not, can't really think of much that you can do to improve WiFi connection (assuming the issue is not on the router's end, but that's unlikely if you get good connection with other devices).

Actually, DRM key backup is mandatory. DRM Fix is no longer necessary as you can now restore the DRM key without relocking the bootloader. No reason not to do it.

If you just want to remove bloatware you don't need to root the phone, just use ADB to do it:
xda-developers.com/disable-system-app-bloatware-android/

Thanks! Opinions on a step up if I spend a little more or not worth it?

Old phone worked fine, people around me works fine, the issue is consistent both on home WiFi and work WiFi so it's definitely a problem with the phone. I have to be super close to the source of the signal. You think a factory reset will do anything?
I have a case but there's no metal and the issue persists both with and without the case

Mods should have banned the literal paid shills that have been shilling this piece of shit since months, completely ruining /spg/ forever because no one takes it seriously anymore

literally kys ranjeesh

Have you seen Asus ZenFone 5z? Has a headphone jack and SD card slot (wide notch though).

LG V30 is $250-300 on eBay brand new, LG G7 is not much more expensive than that. They both would be a considerable step up since they're actual flagship spec phones. I think you can also find decent deals on the Pixel 2 / 2 XL at ~$300-350 brand new on ebay.

Also if I activate it with sprint which i currently have those phones are cheaper, you think I can immediately bring it to cricket after?

they haven't shipped my mi 9 yet ヾ(`ヘ´)ノ゙

CHINKED

Sprint phones required (or used to require) 50 days of activation on Sprint. But since the Motorola phones are unlocked you should be able to just activate it on Sprint, cancel it after a few days and keep the discount. This post has more info:
reddit.com/r/Sprint/comments/axnc3z/best_buy_activation_deal/ehusa9x/

Cool thanks for the help!

Just got the mi mix 2s. It was hard to choose, never bought such an expensive phone. If anyone want to know anything.

How do I make sure an app does not slow down the phone (ie start itself, stays in the background, use data in the background, doesn't really close) ?
I use MIUI.

Settings =>permissions

Jesus Christ, Android Pie is fucking ugly.
Should have stayed on Nougat.

just rice it bro

Oh shit is this user telling the truth? I knew there would be a catch to chinky phones.

Seconding the V30 rec. You can get the Sprint version (LS998), and flash the AT&T (H931) modem onto it while you're on AT&T to get better coverage, then if you decide to switch to Sprint you can just revert. Can't do the reverse though, Sprint has a whitelist of devices they'll activate, and only LS998 IMEI can be activated. Verizon has similar issues, but they do their provisioning through the SIM, so you can just stick a pre-activated SIM in and you're good to go (which is extra useful, since they won't activate phones without their VoLTE anymore, even if it does have the bands).

Found a tencent folder in my internal memory card root, it hasnt been recreated since i deleted it. What does that mean should i just factory reset the phone. Nokia 6.1. europe

hi g/ i want to buy the note9 but some stores sell it for 670 some for 900 , why the huge price diff, is it fake or refurbished? they say its new

Are the storage capacities/ram the same?

>still holding out with Honor 7

Attached: 1554669443975.png (717x720, 1.01M)

The cheap models are probably gray imports, check the model number and whether they come with warranty.

according to site description yes,

most likely but thats a huge price difference, i dont care what country they are from as long as its not refurb or fake

If they're gray imports it's possible you'll get no manufacturer warranty and the frequencies might not be right for your country, so be careful to check that first.

Where can I buy the Mi 9? Should I just go for the Mi Mix 3 instead? Budget isn't an issue. I'm on T-Mobile.

Absolutely forget it if it's not the Snapdragon version.

OnePlus 7 bro, it's the superior version.
Mi 9
>notchshit
Mi Mix 3
>bigass slidershit
just get the OnePlus 7, the stock OS is fantastic and all that shit.

Kimovil

Any chance of the Pixel 3's price dropping to 350 burgerbucks this year?

>OnePlus 7
The GPS is shit, it takes it over a minute to locate

Probably after pixel 4 is out

>Huawei P30 Lite seems like a perfect smartphone
>not a single shoppe in Funland sells it
Same with Xiaomi Redmi Note 7

Attached: 1554463017991.png (1114x1214, 828K)

Get it from Aliexpress or eBay

Pixel 3 has already been on sale for $350 if you got it with a payment plan (Verizon had it for $14.60/mo over 24 months).

If you're talking about buying it outright and unlocked then it's unlikely it will drop down to $350 this year, $450-500 is more likely.

i got a mi mix 3 on verizon and sms texts fail to send. anyone know a fix?

hinta.fi/1653171/xiaomi-redmi-note-7

At that price I'd spend a little more and get the Mi Mix 2S, DNA has it on sale for 299€

>their faces when I told them I always read >tfw as
>their faces when

Check you have the correct APN settings. Also, use this code to get VoLTE working:
forum.xda-developers.com/mi-mix-3/help/verizon-volte-to-t3889373

So it looks like my S4 has reached it's EoL. I'd like to buy a new or refurbished phone before chancing a lineage install.

My primary uses are banking and the web but I'd appreciate a nicer camera. What phones make economic sense?

Avoid Huashit you cretin

get the oneplus 7 next month

didn't stop to think he could have meant
>that feel when
?

What carrier / country? Budget?

Thanks!

Fuck off boogeyman shill

Any idea how to bypass phone verification on social media?

I heard messenger never really closes itself and still does stuff in the background, can MIUI prevent that?

UK, any carrier. Budget is £150 to £300.

Pocophone, Mi Mix 2S or Mi8, all can be found under £300. Redmi Note 7 if you want something cheaper, that's ~£200.

Disable autostart and force close it, it shouldn't start again.

Okay thanks.

What's the smoothest rom (stock or custom) for a 2013(!) android phone?
It will only be used for calls, messages and emails.

Try Slimkat/Slimrom if it exists for the phone in question.

Was your smartphone OS written in the country you currently reside in?

Is there an android app guide like there used to be for windows and firefox plugins?

do you recommend LG G7? budget around 300€

We really have someone with dual citizenship here? Neat. Where are you from?

>oneshit7
>worse cpu than the 845
L O L

L

That doesn't make any sense, the question is about country of residence, not country of citizenship. People are not necessarily a citizens of the country they're living in.

>SD855 worse than SD845
????

>single core high clock speed
>rest is 1.8 GHz

I define being free as being able to do whatever you want. I'm not a friend of taking your freedom to have multiple choices away. So my decision to make it possible to check both yes and no was a conscious one.
Don't worry about it, just check only checkmark.

Attached: 1554102462307.jpg (620x348, 39K)

I'm on a Mi Mix 1, still the best and only phone for me, others might fit your requirements but this is the most recent that is wide enough for reading without the god awful long aspect ratio, can only find them on dhgate

>Don't worry about it, just check only checkmark.
Don't worry about it, just check only one checkmark.*

(Sorry for that typo, my mechanical keyboard at it again...)

2 has the same aspect ratio though.

You know, Google captcha takes the fun out of Jow Forums away. I actually put up an image, but captcha complained again, so I had to go back. Apparently that reset the File uploader to null.

Anyway, here it is.

It was much more fun when there still was spam, the spam was interesting. It was a battle of who made the best spam. Retarded virtue signaling society of cucks with smartphones nowadays.

Is this bait? It's gotta be bait.
>Snapdragon 855 is a high-performance 64-bit ARM LTE system on a chip designed by Qualcomm and introduced in late 2018. Fabricated on TSMC's 7nm process, the 855 features four Kryo 485 Silver high-efficiency cores operating at 1.8 GHz along with three high-performance Kryo 485 Gold operating at 2.42 GHz and another higher-performance Kryo 485 Gold core operating at 2.84 GHz.
xda-developers.com/qualcomm-snapdragon-855-snapdragon-845-kirin-980-cpu-gpu-ai-benchmarks/
>Here are some things you should take away from the benchmark results of the Snapdragon 855 versus Snapdragon 845:
>Qualcomm claims a 45% improvement in CPU performance. Certainly, the jump to ARM Cortex-A76-based cores should yield a substantial performance bump. The 48% and 35% improvements in GeekBench single-core and multi-core scores respectively are impressive, and since most workloads benefit from improvements to single core performance, we’ll give Qualcomm the win here.
>Just as Qualcomm claimed, the Adreno 640 GPU in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 offers about a 20% jump in performance over the Adreno 630 GPU in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845.

Mi Mix is 17:9, Mix 2 and 2S are 18:9

sorry didnt realize links were so long, its between:
xiomi pocophone
huawei mate 20 lite
huawei p20 lite
huawei honor 10 lite
xiomi mi 2 lite
huawei honor 8x

or any other sub 500$ phone

Huawei P20 line

literally based

dont buy lite versions ever

Poco easily. Huawei devices are locked down and you're out of luck after two or so years of updates. Also Kirin SoCs are less powerful than Snapdragons and definitely less battery efficient. The Mi A2 Lite just isn't a good choice anymore - Snapdragon 625 and a notch, with a 4 GB of RAM limit.

Get a global version Mi Mix 2S, it has the best compatibility for leaf carriers:
kimovil.com/en/frequency-checker/CA/xiaomi-mi-mix-2s

Pro tip: to clean Amazon links remove everything after "/dp/xxxxxxx/ like this: amazon.ca/Pocophone/dp/B07H4FNKXH

Pocophone has poor support for Canada's network frequencies since it has no B4:
kimovil.com/en/frequency-checker/CA/xiaomi-pocophone-f1

yea it looks dope
how come? the sketchy kirin soc?
yeah it definetly seems the most legit, almost 2x the price of mi a2 though

Yeah I'm with freedom mobile as well so bad connectivity, from what I understand only 3G will work with the phones I chose

That phone looks sick actually, a bit more expensive but its better so whatever. Do you happen to know its compatibility with freedom mobile in southern ontario?

Has anyone here tried the LeEco Le 2? It seems way too good to be true, especially for a SD652 device

retard here
the back of my s9 is scuffed to h*ck and I want to repair it myself seeing as buying a replacement back is only a tenner on ebay, is it easy to replace?

Be careful with rooting Sony devices. Their cameras will turn even shittier than before and you will lose everything related to video/sound processing.

They should just call it quits completely. They have been downsizing their mobile department, but they've gone full retard so many times it's just time to finally stop.

It's three years old and never got updated last Marshmallow. They're cheap because the company that was making them went bankrupt.

You shouldn't buy Huawei phones at all because the bootloaders are permanently locked. Kirin processors are generally worse than Snapdragon too.

youtube.com/watch?v=w37kjmtTi3g
Doesn't look any more or less complicated than back side replacements for other phones.

pooco is actually legit shit right? you guys are just trolling right?
