I used to grab 4k remuxes solely for the HDR. Most 4k encodes are scene trash and should be avoided at all costs. All the top encoders only want to encode in 1080p because most 4k UHDs are upscaled shit with no 4k detail and encoding takes 4x as long.

As long as the top encoders are going to pump out transparent x265 1080p encodes I'm going to grab them for the HDR. Not worth 80gb 4k remuxes that look the same.

Does anyone use their seedbox as a media share box too? I use to use samba to watch my videos, and from I understand, It will stream the video instead download it onto my pc correct?

If so, im deleting owncloud, no point in using it if its just going to be download ("synced") onto my pc.

Im just looking for a solution I can use on my desktop/tablet (android based) and future smart tv to watch my downloaded shows.

Any suggestions? Other than using owncloud or any service that just download them onto my pc regardless.

Get autodl-irssi for rutorrent. You don't have to actually use rutorrent if you don't want to. You can download the .torrents to a watch directory for another client. Then all you have to do is set a maximum file size and it will snatch everything the moment they are uploaded

I think you're looking for Plex. Install Plex Media Server on your seedbox, and you can stream all your content to any smart tv, media box, PC, smartphone, tablet, etc. Just be aware that if you're located in the NA and your seedbox is in Europe there's a good chance your ISP peering is shit. If that's the case you're fucked, because a seedbox CPU is not going to be able to handle transcoding. You want to be able to direct play everything.,

instead of autosnatching you should probably just sort the torrents by file size and download the smallest however many you need with a browser extension like download star or downthemall

I guess Im using "seedbox" incorrectly, its just a old pc with huge HDD space in my bedroom. my ISP hasn't ever sent warning about my downloads (since I use Private trackers, I guess?)

HDB is wayyyy harder to get into than PTP. AFAIK your best way into PTP is Elite on Redacted. Unfortunately I think you need to be a member there for at least a year to qualify.

Easiest way to join HDBit is making Elite or higher on PTP
