I have a few family members, when they get a new electronic or even a car, they NEVER take the plastic lining off of a product even monitors. I've tried asking one of them, but instead of being open and conversational about it, they took it oddly personal and didn't answer my question... Maybe I asked in the wrong way? Some of these people are pack rats as well, and think it goes along with the personality- But, I'm seriously confused why some people do this, enjoy the damn electronic the way it was meant to be enjoyed!
They do realize their phone isn't responsive not because it sucks, but because they still have the plastic packaging on it right?
Retarded boomers don't realize that there's a plastic on it until someone tells them because of poor eyesight. That's why they get pissed when you tell them.
The same has happened to me lots of times.
Wyatt Harris
It keeps the electronics "new" longer. Same reason they buy plastic coverings for furniture.
Usually poor people do this who aren't capable of enjoying things they own without feeling guilty
Robert Moore
Because they're all NPCs and you're the only one who truly sees things as they are. It's why you voted Trump.
Benjamin Hughes
had to deal with a phone with this shit still on. I couldn't get a good clear answer from that boomer.
THAT FUCKING PHONE DID NOT RECOGNISE EVER 2nd to 3rd TAP ON IT HOW CAN THEY USE IT THAT WAY! Same with the fucking ebook reader, GLOSSY FOIL STILL ON TOP.
Eli Nguyen
Why would you remove the plastic? >doesn't mess with operations.
Brandon Cox
Some of them think it "protects" the device. Also maybe they just don't read. UPSs that come with the big stickers over the outlets saying CONNECT INTERNAL BATTERY BEFORE USE, either go ignored, peeled back unread, or even plugged in sticking the prongs through the sticker, still without connecting the battery and complaining the UPS doesn't work.
Anthony Lewis
Electronics are worse than cars, you'll never get decent money back even if it is pristine... The only electronics I know of that get back good money are Apple products.
Jonathan Rodriguez
>Usually poor people do this who aren't capable of enjoying things they own without feeling guilty oof
My dad kept the plastic film on his 3310's screen from the day he bought it until the day it died over 10 years later.
To me that's admirable.
Jose Foster
it's not just boomers though, there are people on this board who do shit like this to """"retain"""" """"""""""resale value""""""""""""" which is another excuse for masochistic poorfags who can't enjoy things they own
Nathan Nelson
I kept the plastic on the back of my monitor for about a year, keeps dust off and then it looked brand new when I finally took it off.
took the plastic off the sides and everywhere it was obvious tho right away
Gavin Gonzalez
This but unironically
Brandon Miller
It makes it last longer, I don't like giving money to the phone company jew every year. My phone is 5 years old and it still works fine.
Noah Fisher
>It makes it last longer u wot? are you 45+ years by any chance? or a women? or a liberal arts student?
Robert Davis
And then when they DO remove them we call them retards.
>take plastic off like Reddit because they made a fetish out of it >buy a $89 screen protector to put another sheet of plastic back on to it >screen smashes because the 175$ otterbox case didnt protect the screen >buy a new phone cause you were planning to anyway since your facebook friends are talking about how great the new one is
Why does nobody question that these screens are shipped with a foil on them? If they weren't so fragile and wouldn't immediately show finger prints of anyone who touched them, they wouldn't need to put it on.
Kevin Perry
Based and redpilled
Jackson Clark
this is everyone ITT making fun of boomers ironic
Thomas Wood
>take plastic off like Reddit because they made a fetish out of it
>not buying $4 tempered glass screen protector >not buying $18 unicorn beetle >leaving the nasty plastic on your phone
Elijah Perry
I used to do that, I considered it "one free scratch" since I could remove it and have a new looking device after some time. I now buy whatever gorilla warfare screen protection fits my phone on aliexpress whenever I buy a new phone.
Or leave it until I finish installing it properly on my desk or whatever, and never actually doing it.
Nathan Turner
Even worse is when they buy a screen protector. Now they're actually paying to add a layer on it.
Connor Ramirez
But the plastic phones usually come with makes them respond badly to touch, and often covers the earpiece speaker holes.
Nolan Garcia
>not protecting your stuff Enjoy your cracked screen, I will enjoy my phone for many years while you waste money on new phones every year.
Logan Walker
>oof Back to redddit you go. Shoo! Shoo!
Christian Cruz
>Back to redddit you go. Shoo! Shoo! big oof
Jackson Kelly
You sir, are a true detective.
Joseph Turner
>nigger >samsung the 21st century iconic pair
Zachary Rogers
What a dumbass! And people look to him for advice
Jose Price
You have a face problem
Jason Scott
Nah, go look at your local welfare line. They mostly have iPhones.
Tyler Sullivan
They just don't know. My grandparents TV they've had for 9 years still has the plastic on. I told them last year. They didn't know and didn't want it off. My dad just out a screen protector on his new phone... Even though it already came with one pre installed.
Caleb Young
Not just that But how the fuck do people have a dirty screen and not clean it? My boomer father has one with literal water droplet marks, dirt build up, dryed food or something, and other things on it. He uses it and doesn't give any thought to it at all How fucking hard is it to take a damp rag and clean that shit? It grosses me out whenever I have to touch it
Juan Harris
>be me >$5 chink tpu case >$2 glass screen protector I've broken about 8 screen protectors but never the screen underneath. The screen protector breaks and releases the energy unlike plastic ones. I've dropped my phone face down onto the concrete and my screen protector spiderweb but when I scraped the glass off, the actual screen was unharmed
Luis Roberts
>boomer family friend gets new smartphone >he puts a cover on it but keeps the factory screen protector on >"it's keeping it safe from scratches!" >a month goes by and all of the edges have lifted up >everytime he takes the phone out of his pocket it captures dirt, sand, lint under the cover >2 months later the cover loses all it's tackiness and falls off >"WHAT THE FUCK? WHY IS MY SCREEN SCRATCHED? I HAD A COVER!"
Daniel Collins
I've used phones without protectors for many years and never had a problem with cracked screens. You can just replace the digitizer and screen yourself if it breaks instead of buying an entirely new phone.
Leo Allen
I had a sleek dell pc that i kept the plastic on for 5 years. Took off the plastic and the front got scratched up in literally hours. FUCK the peel meme
Eli Bell
None of my stuff ever gets scratched, what the fuck is up with most of you troglodytes? Seriously.
Brody Nguyen
You know you can buy an older generation phone for relatively cheap right?
Jaxson Cooper
I buy tempered glass for my phones. No issues with screen sensitivity, and it gives me peice of mind. Plastic is pointless and doesn't actually protect your phone in the event of an actual accident.
Benjamin Allen
tempered glass screen protectors makes the screen less responsive even by a minute difference, plus edge gestures get fucked over.
plastic ones are still prone to scratching.
liquid gel costs too much.
i just leave the screen nakes, not like i'll have sapphires rattling around in my pocket or bag anyway.
Juan Gomez
take it off when they aren't looking
Jordan King
>Retarded boomers Shut the fuck up you little shit. And no I'm not mad that my eyesight is detèriorating, I just deserve respect and not to be told I'm a retarded boomer, you annoying little sperg.
Dylan Brown
This is similar to the way pajeet monkeys runt their software setups. Get it all working, and then NO ONE EVER TOUCH AGAIN because that shit is dangerous patches are for idiots policies fuck things only person who can add users is a single dude through the menu system. Fear mentality.
Daniel Clark
Better for resale
Michael Allen
Why do all boomers have such violent anger problems? They're all either child abusers or wife beaters. It's both pathetic and scary.
Ryder Gonzalez
Bunch of sad sacs.
Charles Gomez
> friend buys newest xiaomi > doesn't use any screen protector > it cracks the first time he drops it > now he applied one of those plastic screen protectors > screen is literally full of bubbles, just like OP's picture why
have you tried not dropping your things like a retarded baby
Tyler Jenkins
imagine being so much of a c u c k that next owners enjoyment matters more to you than your own
Aaron Brown
Everyone drops their phone sooner or later, this is a fact of life, don't pretend you can escape it.
Gavin King
go past 30 y/o and you'll find out on your own family
Adrian Martin
fuckin zoomers I swear
Benjamin Gonzalez
I don't think they care. I'm starting to notice these same symptoms as I get older. Just generally not caring about shit like this.
Isaac Reed
yeah, my grandpa refuses to remove the plasitc from his 4 year old laptop because he thinks it'll increase the resale value i wouldnt even pay $10 extra with the plastic still on it but he's convinced it'll retain full retail value since he always uses an external kb/m
Cooper Torres
I just browsed the otterbox website out of curiosity, why do these cases cost $70? they are just bits of plastic and rubber.
they even have an ipad case for 120 fucking dollars and it is entirely made out of plastics and rubber you would find in a storage tub
Retro stuff also appreciates but you have to store it for 20+ years before you have a hope of turning a profit on it, not many people are that dedicated.
Gavin Cook
i had been using smartphones since symbian and i haver never dropped them nor had a broken screen kindly debloat yourself out of the gene pool, klutz
Jordan Sullivan
Yeah, it also goes for myself and my cousins in this sense, boomers just don't care anymore... We just don't want to admit to ourselves.
Kayden Powell
lots of boomers (60+, not 30 y/o boomers) have the mentality of "saving" things for when it's "important". like when i'd go to my great aunt's house and she'd have plastic covered sofas to "save" them for when guests come over.
but she never took that plastic covering off, even for us. this is the life. you're living it now. the things we own are to be used. if they break, we can fix it (or at least used to be able to, in the case of modern technology).
so when they unbox something and see that it has plastic on it, they think "oh good, that's there to help save it for later" and not "get this shit off so i can enjoy the product and get on with my life". everything comes later for them. there's some magic destination we're all heading towards that is better than the journey.
In my case they all of die of cancer before retirement, or right after.
Jaxon Rivera
Those factory plastic covers are nasty but I always get me a proper one. Screens are just too flimsy without them. I prefer the plastic ones actually. Glass just breaks way too quickly. The soft plastic foil actually should take some impact whereas glass just shatters.
Angel Clark
This is peak zoomercore lifestyle
Parker Wood
I've had my phone for many years too. You don't need a case for that, you just need to not drop it. The screen isn't gonna crack by itself.
Joshua Sanders
Digitizers are a lot more expensive and you can get fucked over with some of those shitty chink replacements
Liam Kelly
>you just need to not drop it. The true patrician tier! I also don’t use a condom, you just need to watch whom you fuck and pull out at the right moment. And i don’t use safety belts since I drive carefully. And helmets? Just make sure you don’t walk under hanging stuff. And sunscreen? Don’t get me started on that... just stay in mommies basement! I never have to use the stuff, it’s just a scheme by (((then))) to Part wagies of their money!!! Tips fedora.
Henry Green
Have you tried not dropping it? I own my Pixel for more than 2 years and screen is still pristine.
Jeremiah Scott
These are the kind of second hand systems I love to get. Much better than receiving one coated in cum and food.
Nolan Ward
>And helmets? Are you wearing a helmet right now?
Michael Allen
Except it's easy not to drop it if you have a positive iq but most people don't have this luxury
Thomas Roberts
t. seething klutz go drop yourself outta window
Samuel Rivera
>wanting scratch and dust oil to fuck it up as soon as possible instead of waiting with some plastic.
Luis Barnes
>I also don’t use a condom, you just need to watch whom you fuck and pull out at the right moment. This is true. Had active sex life (with a single partner) up until recently with no issues. >And i don’t use safety belts since I drive carefully. And helmets? Just make sure you don’t walk under hanging stuff. There are illegal.
Josiah Gomez
tbqh people with fraying fucked up screen protectors are even cringier than those with cracked screens
Luis Scott
Pajeet go
Charles Murphy
Nope. Office day today. But when I’m at a construction site, I wear one. Or when I’m /out/ climbing.
Maybe some people just have a live that’s more eventful than yours and don’t want to risk wrecking their phone every day.
Jeremiah Allen
>Caring this much about literally a thin piece of barely visible plastic film
How about you stop staring at Facecuck and japanese porn games 24/7
Chase Wood
>Pajeet Not even close.
Julian Morgan
>There are illegal What illegal are there?
Jayden Sanchez
What is auto-correct? >Inb4: Phoneposter
Nicholas Robinson
But assuming “there” = “they’re” makes even less sense. Where the fuck are helmets illegal?
Carter Morgan
Sodomites do this because of teh leaky ass. Your aunt was getting railed by BBC for decades. That's what the plastic is for.
Brandon Brown
Are you literally retarded? It was supposed to be "these are illegal". As in "it is illegal to drive without your seat belt unless your car was not equipped with one" and "it is illegal to operate on a construction site without appropriate protection, which includes helmets for some areas".
Nolan Fisher
I guess you are the retard. Your original statement with the quote above clearly states (with the they’re correction) that helmets are illegal.
Adam Peterson
Fuck off old man, not only am I balls deep in your whore wife, I'll also shit in your mouth.
Nicholas Edwards
Yikes!
Cooper Parker
you gotta be another kind of poorfag to resell electronics
Josiah Barnes
You fucking americans take cover even off your penis. God I hate you, death to america.
Juan Morris
You made them feel stupid, and they didn't like it.
Connor Clark
>Maybe some people just have a live that’s more eventful than yours and don’t want to risk wrecking their phone every day. Poors do and if they break their overpriced toy then they deserved it. Never try to overclass yourself, you will ultimately lose at some point.
