That Mate Video pretty much confirms what I thought- outside foldable screen > inside foldable screen with a tighter fold. This shouldn't have been hard to figure out, only downside that outside screen means it's always vulnerable.

so the breakages are a result of this design decision. it is pretty much impossible to keep a sheet from creasing when sides are laid flat, and when you try to keep a curve, it's a more complicated one.
