I'm phoan poasting but I'm rocking the folloawing:

>Ryzen 7 2700, nigger edition
>RX580
>16 gigglebytes DDR4
>1 tarotbyte SSD, 2 tarotbyte harddrive

I'm seriously hoaping that this set up will last another five years

For the record, no, my CPU isn't running at 80C. It's actually running at ~30C.

More detailed specs:
R5 2600
Gigabyte B450M DS3H
Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000mHz 2x8gb
1TB Toshiba HDD
180GB Intel SSD
RX 590 Fatboy OC
735 80+ Bronze PSU

750TI second hand cards are still $60 USD in this god forsaken country and fucking Asus shitboard only supports 4*1GB DDR2 single sided dimms or 2*2gb DDR2 DS dimms putting more than 2*2gb dimms results in failure to boot.

E5345 costs $15 bucks but I'm not sure if this shit board would actually work with one. Q9400s cost $35 bucks, Q8400 costs like $10 bucks but doesn't have fucking VT and some instructions and I'm pretty sure the 4*1GB DDR2 will bottleneck like fuck.

A G4900 and a H310 motherboard is like $110 but fucking ram prices, buying a Dell Optiplex 990 With an i7 2600 4GB DDR3 and a 500GB HDD for $155 shipped.

CPU is actually a 9700k running at 5.1GHz.
Memory is running at 3000MHz 15-16-16-35

>have to stick to intel for some work-related software
>also want 8t for gaems
>buying a new i7 would be too expensive
>don't want to buy a used K cpu
>afraid 6700/7700 non-k might not be future proof enough

Attached: speccy.png (434x389, 19K)

4C4T is slowly becoming obsolete, you can get 8 cores for $300 now on the AMD side, and a 6-8 core i7 coffee lake or i5 coffee CPU has taken it's place.

Just don't get the 9900K, it's stupid, they put too many cores under the little heatspreader and it overheats.

the thing is some of the software I use for work doesn't really like ryzen at all from the feedback I've had, otherwise I'd have probably grabbed a 2600/x already
I'm hoping for 8c/8t i5s in a generation or two, or maybe a used 8700 if I can find one for not too much money
or maybe I'll just stop being poor one day and grab a new i7

Yea, it's funny how badly that thing overheats, while a Noctua NH-D15S keeps my [email protected] under control.

CPU OC to 5.0

I have a 2tb HDD but I haven't connect/needed it yet

will be upgraded soon (i hope)

1080p was murdered when AMD dropped the 7970.

Because most people use windows. Only 10 active Linux Nigger on g use Linux.

That's why is eternal dude...the 1070 is overkill for 1080 and no AA.

I'm thinking that I need to reapply my thermal paste.

Attached: Speccy.png (657x523, 52K)

1070 is overkill for 1440P even, but the 7970 came out when 1080p ultra was a big deal and it's still playing games at 1080p high, sucks a bunch of power compared to a 1060, but it can play.

I'm thinking that I need to reapply my thermal paste.

Attached: Untitled.png (864x625, 57K)

t420?

Yes

repasting isn't too much of a hassle on that model

...

I need to check my OC settings cause it should be reading 4.3GHz, unless it's a speccy issue.

Attached: Untitled.png (732x543, 47K)

speccy says i have a 7700 and doesn't read my RAM properly.

Attached: 2019-03-27 15_01_48.png (2550x1004, 212K)

Intel chips always have @X.XXGHz in the name, it's not like an AMD FX where it will identify itself at whatever clock speed it's running it.

Ah right, I'll check HWInfo instead

Intel CPU names literally have their stock baseclock in the name, it should say the same thing when you look at it in windows task manager as well.

Pic related, 9700k @ 3.6Ghz but the current clockspeed is over 4Ghz

Attached: 2019-04-18 18_32_51.png (660x718, 36K)

Yeah I've disassembled it before. I don't have any isopropyl alcohol lying around though. Could I just use water instead?

I never understood why intel could list the base clock in the identifier on a K SKU CPU, AMD just identifies their FX and ryzen CPUs by name and leaves the clock speed out even on chips that aren't OC chips.

>Complaining about a wolfdale
>Complaining about a T series let alone one at 2.40Ghz

You fags are like little babies.
I'm running a 1.3ghz core2duo penryn U7300.

Care to explain your reasoning?

>Complaining about a wolfdale
I'd be complaining too desu, wolfdale is so shit compared to the incredible 6 core, 12 thread, 65w CPUs we have now.

you can actually get 8 cores for about $150 if you dont mind an 1800 instead of a 2700x.

It really is insane how good a value 1st gen ryzen is, is just gets overshadowed because the 2700X is throwing blows with the ridiculous 9900K and it's 300$

Considering upgrading my laptop's GPU from the GTX 1080 to a RTX 2080.

Attached: 1550672553204.png (1236x883, 259K)

I wouldn't but how much does eurocom want to charge you for that anyway?

I don't think you can buy one particularly easy anywhere else.

Attached: fuck speccy.png (625x412, 16K)

The RTX 2080 with the heatsink is around $1300 on ebay, but I could probably sale the GTX 1080 for around $900.

I'll likely do it next time ebay offers me one of those 15% to 20% off coupons.

windows 7 master race

Attached: dell4800.png (1095x759, 78K)

I guess that's not TERRIBLE, but I wouldn't expect a night and day difference, it'll be a good 20% better tho.

why is speccy trash OP?

never gets my cpu's right. I got a damn 9700k not no fucking 7700

where do you even put that many screens

one above the other, i don't have pics and my desk is a mess right now, but yeah, vesa and such, pic related quick paint

Attached: file.png (684x429, 6K)

seems a bit much??

most of the time it is, but when I need to remove one and use only 3 or 4, I miss them.
If you actually do work with them (I don't) or do some productive stuff for your hobbies or whatever, like browsing stuff while watching videos, talking with people, taking track of your downloads/torrent/music or even when playing games, extra screens come in handy. Still, 3 should be more than enough, and maybe add an extra 4th with a tablet or something for specific tasks. but after one year or more with this setup, I can't go back.

I always wanted a little tablet that I could use as an extra screen, or maybe a tiny screen I could plug in through USB C, but most solutions out there are still pretty costly

On eBay, there are some sellers that sell laptop screens and other weird screens with fucked up resolutions with a controller hooked up with VGA/HDMI in and some other features. There are even some 4K screen 15,6 inch and some 1080 or 16:10 screen for not too much.
ebay.com/itm/HDMI-LCD-Controller-Board-10-1-B101UAN02-1-IPS-1920x1200-Capacitive-Touch-Panel/182491305803 This is a good example. I will probably add one of these and rreplace the 1280x1024 with it, as I mostly use it for the music. I will mount a VESA or something, because is pretty smol.

Not everyone is a NEET.
I would say so.
Fuck No

damn interesting man,

How would you mount them? The seller doesn't have a rear pic, and if it is just a laptop screen wouldn't that mean it doesn't have the vesa mounts
