why is ubungu so trash?
Boot into ubungu 19.04
Other urls found in this thread:
just install vlc you dumb fuck
It's not uncommon that third party repositories require yet missing dependencies for a short period of time after a new release.
>using ubuntu
Install Debian Testing
>not going to github and compiling it yourself
>going to github
>not knowing the repo url from memory
Because Linux distros usually don't ship with proprietary codecs.
Install vlc-core, it'll install all the 3rd party codecs you need without the vlc player.
Better yet, just install vlc.
sudo apt install gstreamer1* ffmpeg
no need to thank me, just use the default player like a chad
thanks
Did you check the non-free driver/codec checkbox when installing?
sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade
Try again
sudo apt install vlc-core
You rediculous n00b faggot!
Wait a sec
>ubuntu@ubuntu
Are you running the live session? afaik you can't install anything on it
>no werk
Ubuntu things
mpv werks on my system BTW...
AAAHHHH HAHAHHAHAHAHA!!!
Never change Jow Forums
yes you can, at least on Debian liveCD it works perfectly fine so i guess on ubuntu it should too
What's with all of you clowns installing beta versions and complaining lately?
>Are you running the live session?
Yes he is...
I'm not sure, I think apt in the live session has the usb as only repo.
OP, do a cat /etc/apt/sources.list
lol learn to compute
It doesn't work on noobuntu
Debian does not have this problem
is dis bad?
nope, it has repo named "base" i think but you have to firstly apt-get update and then everything you can install as on regular installation but it is wiped after reboot
do
I did that, I'm not retarted
inb4 OP has disabled the main repository
Idk but just use Arch, it never has problems like this.
Or he could try actually installing the fucking thing. That might solve a few fucking problems.
weird, I use smplayer + mpv coming from 18.10 and they survived the upgrade.
I don't know which ppa it was but when I enabled all the ones disabled during upgrade only one bitched about not having a disco branch yet.
also use LTS if you can't handle problems or wait for fixes
try
sudo apt-get autoremove
also
sudo aptitude install mpv
didn't work
apt-get and aptitude pull from the same repos. If it didn't work in one it won't work in the other. user is just being retarded as usual.
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
sudo apt-get install linux-headers-$(uname -r)
Install non-meme distro, with all needful programms in stock repository.
Why don't you fucking install the fucking OS and fucking try again?
Or you're just having a fucking laugh?
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!
Kek
how about installing one at all first
Windows doesn't have this problem
yeah it has a bunch of other problems
OP be trollin'
Why the fuck would you play a vidyah on a live CD anyway?
it didn't work
but I did
aptitude giving a better solutions than apt-get...
even if the source list is the problem it modifies the system to install it properly
sudo apt-get aptitude
sudo aptitude install mpv
fix
sudo apt-get install aptitude
sudo aptitude install mpv
It's not there :(
ok try locate it
sudo apt-get install locate
locate mpv
if its find something
sudo apt-get remove mpv
sudo apt-get install mpv
Make sure all four of those are checked and try again!
also before you just remove do purge
sudo apt-get remove mpv
sudo apt-get purge mpv
than
sudo apt-get install mpv
yay! it work now
The live environment of Ubuntu doesn't enable all 4 by default! Just so you and the anons out there know that from now on!
>it work now
great!
install gentoo
...
but I did
There's nothing left for you in this world now.
WE DID IT Jow Forums
>nathan
where are you in israel?
Ubuntu has always been trash. Use a real distro, or stop being a baby and just compile the software yourself
>uses VLC
>doesnt know about any different APIs
Grab it from GitHub you brainlet, also 18.04 still the
or just enable all the checkboxes in the software updater. Learn to ubuntu, noob.
> sudo apt-get
> sudo aptitude
Boomer spotted.
