A little bit of a pain in the ass, but worth it for not having to deal with SBC horseshit and SBC prices. The wires had to be short to ensure a good connection, but I had to manipulate the motherboard and laptop the thing was attached to in order to be able to connect the damn thing without a problem. Putting the right wires in the right places was slightly problematic because the silkscreening labeling the pins is on the underside of mine, so I'd have to keep flipping it over and over to check the pin and attach the wire and double check the pin. I'd do it again in a heartbeat, but a male-to-female USB extended wouldn't hurt.

Looking into my first thinkpad, i just need a laptop to play media of my portable hdd, play VNs, and maybe hearthstone every once in a while? Looking at the X series beacuse i want it to be relatively small, but dont want to drop the cash for the super slim ones.

Also, how did I manage to destroy my T430s' battery? When I got it three months ago it would last over three (3-3.5) hours now it's down to 2.5 hrs. I capped the charge at 90% and never let it reach under 20%.

I got it to replace my chromebook as a lightweight carry around pc that i can watch movies off my portable hdd, web browse, play VNs and maybe a bit of hearthstone on. About two weeks in the sound goes to shit, when it's amplified all the way it sounds like a mouse fart, regardless whether it's through the built in speakers or plugged in headphones. Anyone know what the problem could be and how to fix it? I've been googling it for two days and have tried all the advice but to no avail and I'm really at a loss.
