This has happened once. It was called dotcom bubble. Then they started competing for capable people to avoid producing unusable bullshit leading to current wages and ability of at least halfway decent programmer with expertise in some language, communication skills and architectural understanding capable of choosing his workplace. Even investors are usually investing in capable team, not a brilliant idea.

Just because person A works less than person B that doesn't mean person A is less productive. Maybe person B is more stupid and has to spend more time fixing their programs. You faggots don't get it. The way you make a lot of money is by siloing yourself with a team that manages an important component with many dependencies. You need to achieve a certain level of political power before you can do this, but when you do (and if you are a computer wizard) you can implement it all yourself and amass a large proportion of domain knowledge. For example, if you are the architect for the support system that other components are rigged to use to self report CIEs, your value shoots up.

Once you have made yourself the expert for a component that everyone else depends on, companies will fight tooth and nail to keep you. At this point, start applying to other senior level jobs. You'll get an offer - and it doesn't even matter if it's more, just go to your boss and let him know that you are thinking of leaving. Your boss/HR department WILL ask you how much you want, or how much the competing companies are offering. Make sure you NEVER give them a number. They have a budget, and if they don't know how much they need to pay to keep you they're just going to cap it out.

This is how you get pay raises in tech. If you're not applying for new jobs every year you are a cuck.
