Because getting proper image quality is impossible. Distance to the monitor, height, angle and even ambient lighting must be perfect.
I also can't seem to get it calibrated properly. Only thing that's awesome is the speed. Zero ghosting is pretty cool.

TN panel is all about speed. The colors are never going to be fantastic unless you get IPS panel.

I was thinking about getting a 24" 1440p to replace my 24" 1080p. Apparently it doesn't even look too much sharper tho so maybe I should look for high refresh IPS panel and upgrade muh color gamut instead.

Technically, but the differences are miniscule (like 3-4ms) and something like a 144Hz IPS panel is going to beat a 60Hz TN panel in terms of responsiveness.

My ips 27" just came in and I feel like it's slower than my TN 24" in shooters.
They told me I couldn't tell the difference.
It'll probably only take a week of ips only before I cant remember the differences, and it's not slow enough to complain about. But it definitely feels floatier, but I also have 3rd world internet so I'll need to try some single player shit after work

Why is there such a huge price gap between 1440p/120Hz+ and 2160p/120Hz+ screens? I want to buy a new monitor but feel like 1080 will become obsolete in next years and 1440p is such an awkward resolution that only generates upscaling artifacts on all 1080p content while 2160p scales prefectly with both 720p and 1080p

1440 is a 16:9 aspect ratio. Literally how can you say 2160 (1.78:1) scales perfectly with 720 and 1080 when they are 16:9?
