The waiting is killing me. I want to upgrade from my 3770

Nice. I'll be upgrading all my shit right after Yule when electronics are their cheapest.

Not sure what to do about GPU though. Guess I'll try to find a used 1080 Ti.

>Yule
Cringe fedora.

rumor has it that navi is coming around gamescom 2019 - is it true or am I mistaken?

AMD is launching 1080 Ti performance for $330. The AdoredTV leak said so, so it must be true!

No more than a month after that, at the latest

ryzen 3000 is shit
be a good goym and buy intel

delid nao!

nigger Yule is what we call it here in scandinavia, and you faggots stole and renamed it

Yea, more like 450$, that I'd believe.

Yeah it's fun to joke about those leaks, but if they'll indeed have 2080ish performance for less than 500 dorrar, I'll take it

Shouldn't you be busy worshipping your jew on a stick or something?

Shut the fuck up you buffoons. There are probably AMD employees monitoring this thread and you just told them that you are willing to pay more.

HURR DURR IT'S TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE! Yeah, self fulfilling prophecy. Good job.

Is Biostar still trash?

I'm tired of this meme. You greatly overestimate the relevancy of the DIY market if you think people saying it's too good to be true online is going to sway AMDs pricing strategy. They'll do what they can do to get the big pre-built companies to pick them up while maintaining good margins (which they've specifically talked to investors about improving)

I was memeing user.

Yes.

I don't think i will ever upgrade my i7 6700k gaming build, but i could build one from scratch for "work" if 3rd Gen Ryzen delivers.

same

And here I am wanting to upgrade from my 2700x for more fps lol

what are you playing that's requiring such an upgrade?

hurry up faggots

those 4 cores gonna start showing their age in a few years.

If these don't hit 5ghz or 25%± performance uplift I won't bother.
Already went from a 1600x to a 2700x last year
244hz 4k oled ultrawides when they come out.
Only game to max out my 2700x is beamng and some other car sims

At 1440p which is the sweet spot btw, the cpu still matters and you may get up to 20+ more fps with a 9700 or 9900 compared to the 2700x.
Anyway, will the 3850x beat the 10990k in games? Because I'm genuinely curious.

delid dis

Very true. Congrats for not being a drone. Also you don't need the 16 core 3850X for gaming. The 8 core 3600X will be sufficient. We can't know for sure but worst case scenario is that it matches the 9900K. It will probably beat it desu.

I have no doubt the 3600X will be more than enough and have a good value. I just wonder which CPU will be considered "the best CPU for gayming" for the next generation.
Source?

4k 244hz? what the actual fuq, what kind of gpu can run that?, also what
said, why not just go intel?
I don't follow monitors, but how far off are such panels?

The 12 core and 16 core will not be considered the best for gaymen. You won't need more than 8 cores for gayman. 8 cores is the new "you don't need more than 4 cores for gaman".

Stop being antisemitic. No need for that shit here dude.

Bring this damn thing out already. The wait is intolerable.

My 5820k that has been waiting for a worthy upgrade for ages.

AMD is a cult. A cult of waiting.

>Wait for Bulldozer!
>Wait for Zen!
>Wait for Zen 2!
>Wait for Fiji!
>Wait for Poolaris!
>Wait for Vega!
>Wait for Poovi!

2080ti on vulkan doom and wolf 2 can get over 4k 100fps
144hz is more reasonable tho.
It will probably be around 4.5ghz boost with a 4ghz base and that don't be a big enough uplift hence why I'm looking at a 3850x to get near that sweet 5ghz
3600x already confirmed to beat the 9900k so dunno what incel can do for the 10k series a 10 core i9 maybe?
Certain games lovr CPU but it's extremely niche sims
I ididnt have to wait for Zen 1 tho.

>3600x already confirmed to beat the 9900k
What?

We don't know for sure that the engineering sample that was shown at CES was a 3600X. Also, that was only Cinebench. Slightly getting a higher Cinebench score doesn't mean it will wipe the floor with the 9900K in gaman. We need to calm the hype train and wait for benchmarks to come out once it is released. AMD is known for disappointing.

blimey, you probably meant 144 instead of 244.

Similar perf at half the power watts
T. Adored retard /tv/
100hz is very doable at 3440x1440p.
4k 3840x2160 is a write off but 16:9 is the new 16:10 5:4 4:3 desu

I bet it is, just have no idea about what panels they produce these days (:

Va is good for 100-144hz 4k
Ips is good for 120-165hz 2k
Tn is the only one to get close to 244hz 1080p
I'm waiting for cheap oled 5k ultra wide as its nice step up from 3440x1440p and similar to 4k uhd
Xled is gonna take a while though and I would not feel comfortable daily driving one in games since you have to turn the HUD off

Mi hermano, I was thinking of getting a 1080p/240Hz one. Just saw a model

>RX 3080
so they're doing the stupid naming battle with Nvidia too?

They sure troll people with that.

9900k 5ghz+ struggles to reach 200hz so good luck and that's at 1080p with a 2080ti

Retards who buy 240hz monitors use them for autistic esport games such as csgo and overwatch anyway. They can easily get over 500 fps in them with any cpu that's at least $200 and a 2060 or whatever.

But those games are downgraded kiddie shit
>low tick rate watch and csgay
Who the fuck cares about those games?

At which game? I don't play games after 2016

As I said, retards. Esport games are all garbage.

I play none of those two games, but I'm a retard, so you got that right at least

That's a few years

>biostar

The difference it's due to SMT. Disable SMT in Bios and the 2700x will be as fast as the 9700k.

How? Why?

>in a few years
No need to upgrade yet then.

Would a future new Ryzen be a worthy upgrade from an i5-6600k?

>R9 370
>R9 380
>RX 470
>RX 480
>RX 570
>RX 580
...
>RX 3070
>RX 3080
doesn't fit the pattern

>doesn't fit the pattern
that the point, so it looks like nvidia's naming scheme

SMT puts extra stress on the memory controller losing you single threaded performance and introduces even more latency. Even on intel people will disable HT when aiming for maximum single threaded performance, which is what most games need. Doesn't work with every game and obviously not when you're GPU bottlenecked but in some cases you can get extra 10-15% FPS more.

Attached: ryzen-smt-h13.gif (563x337, 16K)

Yes, unironically so

Have to be similar to a competitors naming scheme just like how Ryzen is in 3, 5 and 7 increments now. Mostly just a marketing thing

They are going with the RX 3000 naming scheme for the following reasons:
-To bring together Radeon with Ryzen (Ryzen 3000, RX 3000)
-To distance Navi from Polaris (RX 580 was a rebrand of the RX 480 and naming it RX 680 might make it sound like another rebrand)
-Nvidia right now has the 20 series out (2060, 2070, 2080) and having RX 3000 will sort of 1 up them

Really? Thats pretty neat, never knew that.

calling it now, Zen 2 will boast good multicore performance but fall behind in single core benchmarks, making Intel the better option for years to come

maybe i should have bought a 9700k on sale after all... maybe it is more based than a 9900k after all

I'm not an AMDrone but there's no fucking way Zen 2 doesn't surpass Coffee Lake single core performance. Zen and Zen+ have equal IPC to Skylake. The problem with Ryzen right now is high latency between cores.

fuck i hate AMD for following the fucking Intel and Novidya memeschemes

how the fuck they gonna fall behind when they're already less than 5% behind in IPC, 5% improvement over last gen IPC is minimum expected.

it's just not IPC that influences single core perf. Intel puts a lot of work into software-level optimisations whilst AMD doesn't (as far as I'm aware)

>seething inturd eater posts inturd GPU engineer
I can almost see the inturd fanboys holding back their tears in front of their screens.

always the same "everything is intel optimized" from you intel shills

Blame normalfags who can only discern based off marketing.

It makes sense from a marketing perspective. This is a good thing. Don't be so against change :)

yeah it makes sense from that side but it's not a good thing because intel's scheme is completely fucking pants on head retarded

Sorry but it fucking is. I'm not an Intel shill but that's fact. And I don't want it to be that way.
Even if you had a CPU from AMD with identical theoretical performance, programs will perform better on Intel because they've optimized it in some part of the software stack.

and yet they're less than 5% behind... imagine if shit was optimized for AMD.

How is AMD copying Intel's naming scheme? They're definitely naming their GPUs closely with Nvidia but I don't see how they're copying on the GPU side.

ok intel shill

>It will probably be around 4.5ghz boost with a 4ghz base and that don't be a big enough uplift hence why I'm looking at a 3850x to get near that sweet 5ghz
no way the boost difference will be this huge between x models. Im calling 100Mhz max difference on top single core boosts between the 3600x and 3700x+ just like zen+

>"the best CPU for gayming"
either intel still or zen2 6 or 8 cores being on par or better and bring way more value

ryzen 3 5 7
core i3 i5 i7

Attached: 1516290255622.jpg (552x661, 71K)

Oh I forgot about that. How else could they have went about it?

No amount of wojak edits will change the fact that Raja works for Intel. Keep seething.

just skip the thole 3 5 7 bullshit completely because it doesnt mean fucking jack-shit now that they keep increasing core and threads for every one of them
