What is /comfy/?

Okay anons it is time for you to define what is /comfy/

What is the comfiest distro/OS in general? WM? DE? Wallpapers? Browser? Even apps and programs and headsets and keyboards and mouses, let's see what is truly the comfiest combo.

Go wild.

MAGA botnet

Comfy is whatever works best for you, when you don't feel the need to fuck with anything else because it's what you feel you like. Right now for me its a basic bitch arch + i3-gaps + polybar + rofi-dmenu.

Void Linux with my crappy headset, TF2 (muh gayms), mpv, Spacemacs, and a nice hot cup of hibiscus tea.

For some reason Ubuntu 16 felt comfier than 18 even though 18 is better. Weird.

Here's the true and honest comfypill
The comfiest OS is the one you like and are most familiar with. Beyond this, programs you've been using for a while are comfy even if they aren't technically better, like ZSNES for instance.

Comfy means physically comfy. Gaming chair, couch, or reading pillow in bed.
Comfy means no headaches. No small interferences. No coil whine, no overheating, no loud fans, good screen brightness and contrast so I don't have to squint my eyes to see what's on my screen.
Comfy means good performance. No interruptions from framerate drops, screen tearing, stuttering, input lag. It means that I never have to think "can my PC do that?"
Comfy means consistent performance. My settings will persist across OS updates. All of my devices will work out of the box. I will never have to worry about my machine not working unless I fuck up and personally break it.

This is why I use Windows 10

>A fucking FOOT
ruined

It is not clear how Win10 prevent coil whine. I am happy with Kubuntu.

There is also comfiness outside computers, such as a nice cuppa tea, reading a book with a good fire on in the fireplace.

>Settings persist across updates
Definitely not windows 10
>machine not working unless I fuck up
That's with anything

Everything else is comfy but do better next time Rajesh

I didn't mean to imply Windows 10 took care of coil whine lmao.
>that's with anything

So brainlet and a phone poster?

To me, comfort is the opposite of frustration and unpleasantness. It requires either a small amount of effort (as little as simply doing nothing) or some amount of experience.
Programs which are the comfiest are not just comfortable to learn, they solve enough problems in their given domain that they eliminate regular discomfort.

This makes the comfiest programs, to me, those with a high skill ceiling which still guide your learning process as gently as possible.
That is not to say that they are always easy to learn, but they should at least give you something powerful to use at each stage of development so you can go as far with it as you need to.
They also are also never confusing or slow, and are not prone to breaking.

Impatient people with no self control will favour programs with zero discomfort to get started, and will complain about discomfort in regular usage although they are not able or willing to do anything about it.
People who favour power above all else will create systems for themselves that are so esoteric and ad-hoc that they become impractical to maintain and develop, all just to ensure future comfort for any possible task, even if they spend an hour for a second of future comfort.
I believe the best way to be comfy is to use simple systems with large amounts of power, and to not overcomplicate them with endless customization.

You can't be comfortable if there is no you to be comfortable.

for me, it's the instructions on top of those sun servers.
