Just imagine not ordering index in time and having to wait till September at least, IMAGINE

I'm buying oculus quest for comfy wireless, why don't you just wait for an index pricedrop?

300$ for a set of controllers is ridiculous

You could buy the Quest, Rift S, and a decent prostitute to suck you off while watching anime tiddies in VR for the whole price of the index.

thats actuly awsome

>doesn’t understand the difference between specialty application and consumer fads
Neck your retarded self

I'm having fun though

that's all well and fine but make sure to avoid it's full of insane trannies.

Is that seriously the state of vr gaming in 2019?. Guess I'll have to check again in 10 years.

As someone that doesn't live in EU or US, I am prepared to have to wait until at least 2020 to get one.

trickle down.

You can't judge the state of VR gaming from a 2D video, that would be like judging music from its spectrogram images, the experience doesn't translate.

But that's what you're seeing?. Looks like some open source beta version purposely glitched up Raymen meets CS shit.

It's an indie game, the fuck do you expect retard?

quality control from Steam (if it is on Steam).

It has raving reviews on Steam, why would they remove something that people love?

Copyright infringement. Obviously they stole the level from Banjo Kazooie .

That is a community map, not from the creator.

what this guy says

Naturally moving in a 3d environment is immersive in a way that can't be described.

Interacting with virtual object however is something that needs LOTS of work.
see how hard and unnatural it is to use weapons in VR. There's vive knuckles will help, but here's still no tactile feedback for the 2nd most important sensory organ in the human body. Most gloves are clunky, cumbersome, and are only compatible with software designed specifically for it.

We need more standardization of controller/gloves/input devices but in order to do that we need to know what's the best form of input. We just don't have that answer nailed down. Also the feud with cuckbook and Valve will make standardization more difficult.

There is nothing clunky about it, he just dropped the rifle because firing one handed makes the player drop it.

Stop talking like you know anything about VR if your poorfag ass has never tried such.

I might care about VR in 4-6 years, you know when there's games that don't suck to play.

Got my preorder in the first batch

Looks good, but I'd have been willing to go well over 1k if it had built in wireless and eye tracking

Knuckles will make a huge difference either way

And in 4-6 years you'll say the same thing, and when we have the Matrix or SAO you'll still say the same thing.

>polio simulator

>all the hype about the index and the valve as vr savior
>they released vive pro+ but with lcd screen and 144hz instead of 90hz
>for fucking 1000$
where the hell is eye tracking, >200fov, moving screens, better lenses anything that is big upgrade?
it's just the same shit for the last 5 years but they bump a resolution a little and releasing "new" product every time

>because firing one handed
I know Pavlov has a learning curve for using guns that's stacked on top the learning curve just for moving around in VR. I also know that using side grip buttons to "steady" the rifle with 2 hands after every reload is very fatiguing and easy to mess up. This isn't by design, it's due to limitations of the input devices.

Also, Gorn has an extremely simplified control scheme. Literally all you need to know is how to waggle your arms and the 1 button for grabbing stuff. Moving is optional.

My wish list for VR would be controller inputs that are good enough you can type on a virtual keyboard naturally using all fingers AND feel the keys as you type, a HMD with enough resolution you can read, Augmented Reality/real time 3d scanning physical objects and inputs natural enough that there's no learning curve. But right now I'd settle for vive knuckles and hope they're backwards compatible older games/software.

VR is dead. This shill thread is retarded.

>3 new headsets announced this month
>steady growth on steam userbase, 1% of all active users passed
>business applications
>military and police use
>confirmed for PS5
>b-but its dead!

stop posting about tech and go back to some poorfag lenovo containment thread boomer

This is a fucking pipe dream, that's not gonna happen before the collapse of society and it would still not work for real games because there's no solution for movement. There will continue to be no games.

>3 new headsets announced this month
ok, they're shit.
>steady growth on steam userbase, 1% of all active users passed
pic

Some police dept. fell for the meme? ok. Is that gonna give you a decent game?
>confirmed for PS5
It's on ps4 already, only it's dead on ps4. So what?

are you actually fucking retarded? Jesus christ get an education

how long before vr is banned because of shooting games being used by incels to train for white terrorist attacks?

>Some police dept. fell for the meme? ok. Is that gonna give you a decent game?
You can do pretty cool shit with VR if you can afford to hire a team of programmers. The same applies if you can program and have an idea in mind. It's the gaming manchildren who are getting shafted when they buy these things.

>a 400lb man gyrating on your virtual avatar while his thighs and hands clip into himself and you
Unf, gonna definitely get a vr headset now.

VR FPS titles are garbage at the moment, so it doesn't interest me. VR is only really useful for racing/flying sims and sandbox meme games right now.

>dead on ps4
go post anime pics about it being a meme gimmick fad, atleast thats entertaining

Attached: hmm.png (1732x1143, 1.02M)

vr as a consumer product wont work for a while still. that cop simulator uses a professional tracking system worth tens of thousands of dollars. The tech needs to become cheaper to have a market outside the military and research, this is natural

>muh education
This is what the tranny says when confronted with his own inability to argue.
Occulus went down, nothing else went up. Now, this could be because the numbers are too small to reliably measure, but that also proves the point.

>You can do pretty cool shit with VR if you can afford to hire a team of programmers.
Like what?
>Use it as a screen replacement
Impossible due to cables, discomfort and LOW resolution
>training
The shitty controls don't translate to real life, and the shitty physics and graphics don't let you adapt to the environment either.
>porn stuff
Blurry, 720p-looking videos of whores getting fucked. Can't do anything, can't grab her, can't feel her contract on my cock what's the point?

Console users are retarded, what's new? Remember wii sports? That was nothing but a gimmick as well.

you are like a virgin sex educator

have sex

>The shitty controls don't translate to real life, and the shitty physics and graphics don't let you adapt to the environment either.
so shitty the british airforce, after the US airforce, is adapting vive wands for flight training cockpit interaction, haha

>Like what?
Sorry NDA. Hire your own programmers.

>gorn
>not B&S
cringe

>vr is a meme
How is this not the next natural evolution step towards this simulation meme everyone is jerking off nowadays?

Me too

Left hand working the bolt.

knuckles/valve index controllers are backwards compatible with vive wand games, and you can customize any ported control scheme with steam

just die

>Blurry, 720p-looking videos of whores getting fucked. Can't do anything, can't grab her, can't feel her contract on my cock what's the point?
It's not perfect, but it's good enough that it could replace sex for incels. It's certainly a major step up from regular porn where you watch another guy fuck a girl right in front of you.

I don't regret buying my rift. In fact, it made me see 3D in real life (I have an uncorrected lazy eye, meaning my stereoscopic vision wasnt working properly).

So I just researched Index.
Sounds like Valve is offering Oculus the entirety of the VR market. Seriously the Index is fucking sucks dick compared to Oculus S.

>it made me see 3D in real life

Aren't the latest HMDs 1440p? At any rate I'm waiting for 4k, so probably 2021?

>moving screens
What would this do for the experience? Genuinely asking.

>Obviously they stole the level from Banjo Kazooie
underrated

>And in 4-6 years you'll say the same thing because it will still be 1000 clones of vr chat.

Someone ask how he feels about OP's video

How do they do those moves? Do they have sensors connected to their body? Or are those pre-made animations?

You set up cameras that detect your movement.

top fucking kek

Index is pretty much trash taking into account the price and required specs. Rift S is equally as garbage.
I own a Rift CV1 and enjoyed it for a while, but overall it's been a fucking frustrating experience, and most games like run like shit and require a supercomputer to hit a playable framerate.

They should have them play against pro cs:go players.

Found the 970 owner, kek

I have a measly 1060 6gb and it runs VRChat at 90fps. Although that particular game can be shoddy simply because it's glitchy in general.

Its also totally irrelevant because physically picking up a weapon and cocking it manually instead of just pressing a button ISN'T FUN.

>I was too lazy to learn to focus properly

Have an Odyssey+.
Play mainly sims. Especially for car sims it has been an absolute game changer. Feels like I am really sitting in the car.
Planes are also pretty cool, being able to fly by view is great.
I also got H3VR and am having a blast with it.

Technically, even the Oculus CV1 is 1200p Rift S is 1440p, and Valve Index would be 1600p. Although in reality there's the difference in FOV as well as screen type, so the difference between the Index and everything else can't as easily described in numbers.

Hatred VR when, tho?

Also, 4k actually exists in the Pimax - although the FOV is also much wider. I question how good it really is.

>I used to have sickle cell anemia

Better than rift.

"1440p" usually refers to 2560x1440 and most headsets do not come in that resolution. Oculus Go and Rift S do use a single 2560x1440 I think and Pimax 5K+ I believe uses a 2560x1440 screen for each eye. Pimax 8K uses 2 3840x2160 screens (but input is lower resolution). Vive and Rift CV1 use 2 1080x1200 screens, Vive Pro and Index use 2 1440x1600 screens, HP Reverb uses 2 2160x2160 screens and so on.

Basically, VR headset screens generally are not standard 16:9 formats or resolutions, so there aren't really any "1440p" headsets other than Go and S. There isn't even a standard aspect ratio for VR screens, so it's pretty dumb in general to not use the complete resolution when talking about it.

>imagine paying launch prices for the headset

Attached: 1517974857843.jpg (601x601, 156K)

GPU isn't the problem. VRChat is not optimised so it will suck every spare cycle from your system.

You're retarded. The Index is way better. Higher res dual lcd panels, integrated headphones, ipd adjustment, wider fov, better tracking. Rift S is just rebadged Lenovo trash. It's just that the accessories are retardededly priced for anyone that wants to switch from MR or Oculus.

>imagine the possibilities
>the NYPD conducting active shooter drills at the WTC
wonder why they have to do that in VR :^)

But it is, Pavlov is popular just because of that reason you fucking namefag retard

>enemy gives your gun back

What a polite young man

Presence buddy, its ONLY just good enough to give a real sense of being elsewhere, this is tankwar/elite wire frame stuff.

The military has been using video games to train their guys for decades now. You know the company, "Bohemia Interactive," who makes the Arma games? Their offshoot, "Bohemia Interactive Simulations," make the same thing for militaries around the world. If you've ever been in a good Arma 2 clan you'll notice everyone is ex/active military.

Attached: Virtual Battlespace 3.jpg (1000x668, 264K)

VR is fun, and it has some really nice potential which I'm glad is getting some use.

But for fun use? I can't really justify a backpack computer to play wirelessly, plus the tower tracking is a massive pain.
I'm glad occulus is moving more towards inside out tracking and getting rid of those towers, but we really need a high powered wireless headset before I can start taking it too seriously, and I say that as a VR owner myself.

The games are fun, but too limited by graphics and being tethered down and having to worry about tripping over wires constantly.

The sad thing is VRChat could have been great, complete freedom to completely design your characters and maps in unity and just import them and have the game already provide you with an audience and system to run it?

Fucking fantastic, and I had tons of fun with it. but they ruined it. And I'm fine with female avatars, but god damn do I hate the trannies.

Check out Sansar mate. It's miles better than VRChat depending on what you're looking for. Player base is much more mature, game looks great and runs VERY well. And some of the maps are fucking stunning. Check out the cybercity if you decide to download it.

Do I have complete avatar freedom though? That's the main thing I had fun with, being able to design literally anything.

Yes, I believe you can make your own avatars but I'm not sure how. I don't think it's done through Unity like VRChat. I've met some people with mindblowing avatars that they've made themselves. It's not easy to get one for yourself though unfortunately.

As long as its just one of your normal 3d modeling programs I could probably make do. I'll check it out, thanks.

>oculus
ewww.
htc vive is AWESOME. why would you get the cuckuluous?

identical specs and lower price

but, then you have to deal with zuckerberg...
