If I could get a recommendation I would really appreciate it. I mostly listen to progressive rock and electronic music if it helps.
>Location USA >Budget 300$ >Type of headphone Over ear >Open or closed No real preference >Comfort level Moderately comfortable >Sound signature Open to whatever
I'm being a brainlet if I'm using just Spotify on my smartphone to listen some music on my workplace? I got a Sansa clip+ lying on my desk gathering dust from years because I'm a lazy fuck for not being able to download good quality music files. Can I get good sound quality just using Spotify on a phone? Do you guys use some kind of EQ app to compensate some shits? Should I just revive my old Sansa clip+ with rockbox and ditch my phone for music?
I'm using a Mi Mix 2s + Spotify premium on max quality + Tin T3 as earphones. I'll appreciate any suggestions.
In Spotify there is a setting under Audio Stream where you can select a higher bitrate stream/download quality. By default its Normal which is around 192kbs, you can increase it to Very High quality which is around 320kbps. There is nothing you can do to make it go higher.

HD 569 are the most comfy, period. More than even the 600's, but they look like hi-fi headphones so you don't want to take them out.
They also have excellent isolation, but come with a shitty stock cable (the long one) that causes audiophonics. Had to order a 10€ cable from Aliexpress to minimize it. I never used the short cable that came with it because it was too short.
>Stax incel in the front >skinnyfat >no sense of style >weak chin >feminine looking
>Focal Chad in the back >wide shoulders >fashionable dress shirt > strong chin >masculine looking
The Official /hpg/ headphone ranking was correct all along.

just bought the 569, did i make a mistake? reddit tells me the sound quality is pretty bad. I already own the 6xx so i'm more focused on comfort and isolation rather than the most premium sound ever.
most people here hate them, there's a couple people that own them and nothing else so they meme them but they usually leave after a thread or two

buy stax :3

I forgot how wise you were

I believed there was no point to those expensive headphones. M50 MASTERRACE. I compared hd650 to focal UTopia and they are SUPER similar. I cant even comprehend how you can charge 4000 when 200 is 99% the way there. Still questioning this, I made a hypothesis: the better headphones will have better not matching the levels or FR, rather, they will have the same trends in the FR despite possibly being different.
OBv. the FOCAL headphones win out on this, so do the audeze 4, akg electrostat
But super surprising, I stumbled upon the positive result for th900 fostex
THESE are "fun" cans. why are the amongst the gods?
FAstforward a couple weeks. someone posted that their th900 driver broke.. and offhandedly mentioned that the driver flutters in a gentle breeze.
picachu.jpg
I thought the driver would be stiff because stiff=good. plus its got a layer of moss on it. Then I recall FOCAL UTOPIA. that driver flutters in the wind because its a COMPOSTE diaphragm. the rubber is super soft.
same with the th900. rubber surround with a mossy disc GLUED to it. Performance: CHECK. Price: DOUBLE CHECK.
What does it mean? it means buying HD800 is figuratively cucking yourself. Buying a dt1990 is taking a dick up your ass. Buying a adx5000 is licking some balls
are ad1000x good? tempted to import as 600s upgrade, they cost $800 here
Hunter Anderson
iems look just as retarded and are harder to tie together with an outfit, not to mention their sound quality to price ratio is utter trash and the ear tips are either 'too small and cause the iem tof all out' or 'large enough to give you skull splitting cramps after 30 minutes of use as they rape the nerves in your ears' Headphones are superior

I have a pair, i love em, but I've always been a fan of AD series.
did you compare them to 600s? I mostly like mids, meaning voice, strings and piano not that much into bass or treble I also hear their soundstage is big, how is positioning within it?
Zachary Perez
>, meaning voice,strings and piano
If you want that, and all that other clarity for other instruments buy them. You don't miss a single thing with them, regardless of the song. Vocals are beautifully done and something that really stands out.
It's got decent bass but nothing special, hardly any treble.
>I also hear their soundstage is big, how is positioning within it?
Both are great, gaming fags seem to love them for FPS games.
Oliver Watson
holy fuck, where do you live where the ad1000 costs $800?
Nathaniel Lee
Wait people actually buy stax? I thought it was just a meme to get reddit to waste money on chink garbage.
Eli Evans
no one actually “buys stax”, they invest in the highest fidelity known to man
Jayden Taylor
if they're buying speakers then why are they in the headphone general :o
Carson King
Stax are not headphones, Stax are a way of life.
Evan Cruz
Stax are THEE way of life, a life of high fidelity everlasting praise be upon Yutaka Tagaki San
Gavin Baker
stax? but you said people were investing in the highest fidelity which would be loudspeakers
no in fact buying stax makes you a permanent incel. there has never been a documented picture of an attractive person using stax
Jace Ross
I realized something. Headphone upgrading doesn't exist. It's all within 10%. and doesn't scale at all with money. It's all flavors and taste flinging. There is literary no reason to go beyond hd600s tier.
