Do you still listen to records? What do you use?
Pic related. I got a pair of Stantons playing through an old Aiwa stereo with the original speakers. Nothing fancy but sounds great to me.

I do, I have a Technics SL-Q200 which gets the job done. My speakers are weird, got em from my grandpa and they don't have any label on them. But it's a 2.1 system that's pretty good.

I use the classic Lepai TriPath 2020+ amp (did they rebrand as Lepy? I think so).

I do, VPI TNT HR MKV with mono and stereo Lyra Helikon carts. Atma-sphere MP-3 phone stage. Sounds pretty pretty good.

On terms of just standard records, do you enjoy the crackling a record makes as part of the aesthetic?

/based/ VPI user!
My is a Marantz TT-15S1
Clearaudio Virtuoso cartridge and a Clearaudio Satisfy tonearm.
Phono stage is a Tube Box DS with two deseiet NOS Mullards valves.

The Marantz looks very nice. Too expensive for me but just about worth it for the look.

It's not about the turntable, it's about the cartridge.

Sometimes. I don't actually notice that big of a jump in quality over FLAC, but the ritual of setting it up and getting it started is what's truly satisfying to me and what helps me get into the mood to sit down and listen to a few albums for four or five hours.

Calling bullshit that user owns a $14k without pic.

Nice setup! Here’s my 12” VPI arm with my stereo Lyra cart mounted. I have two 12” arms and been listening with the “mono arm” lately.

yes, i still listen to shit through my AT LP120, just have it hooked up to and old stereo, sounds great. i'm glad the vinyl trend is dying, means i don't feel like as much of a faggot when i listen to it.

there is fuck all difference, you're only gonna notice FLAC quality from a record if you have a sick setup. the main difference is that the vinyl is often mastered slightly differently to the digital version, so some people perceive this as "you can hear the better quality dude". some records sound like absolute dogshit compared to the digital version because they've been mastered terribly

if the arm isn’t enough, here’s a pic of my STAX sr009 and 007mk2.5 headphones in front of my $9000 Spectral Audio DAC...Theres over $16,000 in that pic alone.

This. I don't really feel like a piece of shit in a record store anymore because of the trend disappearing.

I thought I read vinyl sales broke recent sales records of something?

The claim was that people bought more physical media than digital. Like all trends however, it has been declining. At least from a personal perspective for me.

So you guys have a record cleaning machine, right? love my VPI 16.5
