Is is actually possible to use Firefox sync with Icecat? The option is there but always errors out. I want to return to it, but don't want to lose all my bookmarks on mobile and can't figure out how to export them from FF on my phone. I know this can be done on the desktop.

Just copy your profile folder.

Im using icecat but its basically an outdated firefox with modifications Version 60 (firefox is over 70) Fuck what alternatives are there

Unironically nothing of this is true.

Doesn't work.

>firefox is over 70 No. Icecat is based on Firefox ESR, which are the Firefox stable builds.
The fuck is wrong with the captcha on waterfox? I import the same exact Jow Forums settings from firefox to it and the captcha doesn't work right. Also, Greasemonkey seems to have downgraded, and YouTube loads too slow.
Every new browser seems to be filled with holes in terms of usability and addons. Might as well drop these meme browsers and go back to firefox when this problem blows over.

useragent switcher to make it look like normie firefox

Pretty sure I read on his blog that he takes it one step further and emails articles he's interested in to a fsf team member, wget them, and email them back.

to the trash it goes

>>Waterfox >>Spyware Level:High >most notably: >> • over 100 Analytics and Telemetry requests
waterfox.net/ >No Telemetry > Waterfox does not collect ANY telemetry, meaning you don't have to worry about any tracking or usage information about what you do inside YOUR browser.
Are they just lying?
Julian Carter
Why can't Linux/gnu do proper font rendering after all this time
Brody Carter
Because it doesn't force add-on signing
Parker Moore
To make sure it doesn't track you, mitm proxy has to test it. But don't bother, they are already having trackers on their webpage which means waterfox is irrelevant from that point on.

Did you never compile a browser yourself? I thought this is a technology board. Anyway, I've read that "chocklery" or how it's called, provides a package for Windows.
Iceweasel is just a (not used anymore) rebranding.
Cooper Thomas
Hey, I'm installing this shit and it's taking forever to compile (over 10 minutes, lol.)And how do I remove the preinstalled extensions? There's a bunch of bloat in it.
Jonathan Powell
Okay better stick to Debian's Chromium then. I'm not bothering with it.
Xavier Edwards
You just remove them like any other addon.

if youre on windows, there are no official icecat binaries. i would not use an unofficial binary, none of them have good documentation nor have they been audited well. just use waterfox or palememe on wangblows.
Hudson Clark
IceCat do not have cert issue like Firefox?
Tyler Hernandez
Well fuck. Thanks for the advice anyway. Which one of those alternatives would you recommend?
