>Several ESRs behind because nobody works on it
>Unremovable freetard addons
>Blocks random extensions like SmartHTTPS for no reason
Yikes

This is simply not true.

You can remove any addon. Go to addon at about:addons.

What the fuck are you talking about brainlet, literally none of those are true.

Attached: 2019-05-05--1557074975_620x325_scrot.png (620x325, 46K)

Current ESR is 60.8

Not available as a package on Debian, Icecat would've thought it would be there.

Attached: 4db.png (680x514, 72K)

Just grab the binary from the ftp and put it to /opt, oldschool.

Attached: 1539644647710.png (1500x761, 322K)

isn't that a bit behind? failurefox is at 66.3

ESR you fucking brainlet.

guix package -i icecat

Is is actually possible to use Firefox sync with Icecat? The option is there but always errors out. I want to return to it, but don't want to lose all my bookmarks on mobile and can't figure out how to export them from FF on my phone. I know this can be done on the desktop.

Just copy your profile folder.

Im using icecat but its basically an outdated firefox with modifications
Version 60 (firefox is over 70)
Fuck what alternatives are there

>not for windows
And drop it

Unironically nothing of this is true.

>windows
Faggot
This is a linux board

Doesn't work.

>firefox is over 70
No. Icecat is based on Firefox ESR, which are the Firefox stable builds.

>66 > 70

Yep, it was a pretty easy choice.

Then how come icecat still has addons

>doesnt work
Im using it right now nigger

>RMS favorite browser

Doesn’t he avoid them entirely and uses wget?

Waterfox doesn't fucking work.

I tried to view jewtube, and even with the prepackaged crap addons disabled it wouldn't load anything.

>It's an easy choice, isn't it?
Nope, I use windows

Based

Yes i disabled that addon and use ublock origin instead

Waterfox can use the same de-botnetting guide as regular Firefox
privacytools.io/browsers/#about_config

How does IceCat compare to IceWeasel?
t. Debian fag

The fuck is wrong with the captcha on waterfox? I import the same exact Jow Forums settings from firefox to it and the captcha doesn't work right. Also, Greasemonkey seems to have downgraded, and YouTube loads too slow.

Every new browser seems to be filled with holes in terms of usability and addons. Might as well drop these meme browsers and go back to firefox when this problem blows over.

useragent switcher to make it look like normie firefox

>Not using Thundercock
It's like you hate freedom, security, updates and stability

JUST

This is the same fag who thinks HTTP is spyware

Pretty sure I read on his blog that he takes it one step further and emails articles he's interested in to a fsf team member, wget them, and email them back.

>It is compatible with GNU/Linux, Windows, Android and macOS.
>building binary packages for Windows and macOS currently requires non-free software, so we no longer distribute binary releases for those platforms.

to the trash it goes

>>Waterfox

waterfox.net/
>No Telemetry
> Waterfox does not collect ANY telemetry, meaning you don't have to worry about any tracking or usage information about what you do inside YOUR browser.

Are they just lying?

Why can't Linux/gnu do proper font rendering after all this time

Because it doesn't force add-on signing

To make sure it doesn't track you, mitm proxy has to test it. But don't bother, they are already having trackers on their webpage which means waterfox is irrelevant from that point on.

holy font cancer... how do you look at that all day

depends on the distro, im on fedora (pic related) and i think i have the latest version, its the same as the firefox ESR on the AUR

Attached: Screenshot from 2019-05-05 13-37-59.png (620x364, 55K)

Also this: Waterfox literally is Firefox 56 + updated security patches. The debotnet guide of Firefox on that site works for Waterfox too.

>I occasionally also browse unrelated sites using IceCat via Tor.
stallman.org/stallman-computing.html#internetuse

Funny how tor browser lost its noscript addon

Kek'd.

Did you never compile a browser yourself? I thought this is a technology board. Anyway, I've read that "chocklery" or how it's called, provides a package for Windows.

>IceCat
An out of date FF esr?

Attached: Screenshot_20190505_204627.png (607x404, 44K)

Iceweasel is just a (not used anymore) rebranding.

Hey, I'm installing this shit and it's taking forever to compile (over 10 minutes, lol.)And how do I remove the preinstalled extensions? There's a bunch of bloat in it.

Okay better stick to Debian's Chromium then. I'm not bothering with it.

You just remove them like any other addon.

>falling for the Google botnet
"Chromium suddenly starts downloading a binary blob":
lwn.net/Articles/648392

oh no no no

>how do I solve the problem without solving the problem

No, because following their guide Waterfox goes to Not Spyware.
spyware.neocities.org/guides/firefox.html

Waterfox is not spyware, just like Icecat, but Waterfox has better functionality than Icecat.

github.com/muslayev/icecat-win64/releases

Nah, I'm using LXDE + Openbox. Did some "dirty" manual tweaking to put the icons/cursor/everything else in.

>install icecat
>can't even open youtube
Great "browser"

Autism. It's a bitmap font you prudes. I set it to look like cancer on purpose to fit with my Winshit theme.

change USEARAGENT header to latest FireFox

I'm just a brainlet and not native to this board, but is this a safe version of IceCat?
chocolatey.org/packages/icecat

Alternatively this?
I wouldn't want to try avoiding Mozilla privacy issues just to end up in a botnet.

Attached: 1507450371241.jpg (637x628, 56K)

newfag

if youre on windows, there are no official icecat binaries. i would not use an unofficial binary, none of them have good documentation nor have they been audited well. just use waterfox or palememe on wangblows.

IceCat do not have cert issue like Firefox?

Well fuck.
Thanks for the advice anyway. Which one of those alternatives would you recommend?

Alright, cunt... you won. I'm one of (You), now.

>Waterfox
>Spyware Level:High
You can remove the botnet by following the Firefox's config guide present in that site.

>On Windows

You have more to worry about than the botnet, friendo.

Probably, but it would be nice to at least cut mozilla out of the question, if they're going to be as bad as google.

>no Brave
>no Tor Browser
shit list.

Looks pretty good.

Waterfox, it can do everything Pale Moon can anyway.

Thank you, sir.

Welcome home.

Are you saying you wouldn't?
I'd rather bleed profusely than give up muh video games to be honest

or reddit and don't come back

You're at least using LTSB/LTSC, right user?

...fug. I honestly hoped that it won't be a problem since it's open source.
Thank you Anons.

Greasemonkey not supported?

nope

Does Waterfox even have stuff like blocking crypto/fingerprinting like newer version of FF has?

But it does? Try Tampermonkey or Violentmonkey

Yes. Follow the guide.

it's a scamfork with inserted dev ads, what do you think?
