I wish all anons good code today

I'm working on a program that prints and arrow of the size the user inputs.

I'm working on a webcam software for shits and giggles that if detects a black person trying to login, prompts a message to find a white person to monitor their usage to prevent damage to the hardware

I'm working on a GUI application that I'll use to make maps and a small script system for flags for my RPG I'm working on

Attached: dontknow.png (1920x1080, 90K)

I'm working on history and line editing for my shell.

Go or Erlang/Elixir?

I knew that image looked too small. I've seen a few badly resized images in my lifetime.

C++

so it just prints the n word?

Damn, you're right. I just took that image straight from /c/, and have now overwritten my local copy.

Attached: 1554767398828.png (600x409, 136K)

No. C++ is a hammer and these are screwdrivers. I am not going to use a hammer as a screwdriver.

That analogy only works if C++ is a hammer, but also gives you cancer when you use it.

Cancer++

I'm studying sieve algorithms for integer factorization and discrete logarithms.

Me on the left.

Imagine the smell in that room. How can you program in such a setting?

Thank you, you too user and other anons.

Neato, post results! I might have a shader for font rendering I can post if you are using directx

Hammering screws in actually works though.

Good on you. Understanding algorithms is very important for being a competent programmer.

Candy and unicorn farts? It would programming in heaven.

>What are you working on, Jow Forums?
Might return to working on adding a raw h264 tcp socket feature to libstreaming for an android application that I whipped up to reinvent the wheel.

tryna figure out how to make a dict from a single list in python

There is probably some iterutil that does what you want.

muh_dict = {list[x]: list[x+1] for x in range(len(list), 2)}

fuck
muh_dict = {list[x]: list[x+1] for x in range(0, len(list), 2)}

>Neato, post results! I might have a shader for font rendering I can post if you are using directx
it's a 2D game I've been making for awhile now, it's written in C, but I'm thinking what re-writing it in C++
I've been pretty busy recently and haven't been able to work on it that much, but I should be back in full gear in a month or two

Attached: aa.png (1019x501, 22K)

How are you handling "rendering levels" or what gets rendered first, I was planning on using a quad tree for other reasons but I think that would require me to render a menu separately after inorder to get the overlay.

Nice. Game development in C can be difficult. C++ makes representing things like matrices, vectors and other data structures. The amount of pointers you end up having to pass all the time in C is a pain in the ass compared to just using C++.

im sick of your shit bjarne

Attached: 1548822019636.png (805x720, 553K)

Not him but I don't like C it is too messy. But so is C++ and Rust what now?

I'm using SDL, I render it in layers. Background, decor, npcs/player, and then special tiles that render over the player like going behind a building
it's all tiles in a 2D grid with a third dimensions for the layers
yeah, it's about 4 thousands lines write now and I have done too many hacks and struct pointers are getting the best of me
I'm actually learning C++ as I'm porting it

Use a higher level language where you can import everything as modules written by other people to handle most of the operations.

Cool, I'm using sdl2 but I'm trying to optimise collisions and rendering even though I'm not sure I'll have any scenes that will be large enough to handle it, I do worry I am over-engineering my solutions for the sake of learning tho. One example is I am giving the entities components via function pointers that are stored in an array mapped by an enum that corresponds to the function such as Render or Tick.

well i hope them kiddoes had the time of there life

Just subclass the hammer and override the operator. Bang done.

who's Done and why bang her

Just use c++ as c with classes. It's not bad if you use it the correct way. Just avoid anything in the std:: namespace and you will be ok.

Attached: 1515358145891.gif (500x500, 907K)

>just avoid stds
just avoid sepples

>Telling people to EVER use C++

Attached: vomit.jpg (650x650, 90K)

Okay what should I use then? C? lol

Ada

Classes are nice, though, user-sama.

Literally who

Some medieval SJW who took credit for programming first or something.

so ada is done and you should bang lovelace?

Shouldn't you be programming or studying for programming right now?

Also, anyone want to try to solve this challenge today? So far no one has posted a solution other than me.

All you need is a PD loop

>/dpt/

even the loli party OP did not show pantsu, reconsider your sinner ways.

b-but I'm programming right now, user-san
I'm just taking a break is all

It's a lot easier to convince anons to try a challenge if it can be ran in a browser. If it had to be compiled no one would even download it.

Can't you just roll for one of these like everyone else?

Is Godot a good game engine for both getting into gamedev and to possibly get started on contributing to open source projects?

Already have some programming experience. Most of it was working independently on some random personal projects though.

>start project
>get bored
>it's too much effort
>stop
>repeat

Godot, from what I've heard, is a meme.

I have done about half of those. I used to keep a Jow Forums roll for project thread open and roll for these whenever I had time.

Attached: dawnbreaks.png (2592x1944, 3.4M)

antergos very hard to learn. but i feel like Jow Forums the hacker group himself

Is using cstdint ints best practice is sepples?

Attached: 1556266785937.gif (500x408, 1.79M)

Looks interesting. I work in Object Pascal so Ada seems similar to what I'm used to. How does it differ? Object Pascal is kind of like C++ except it is partially managed. Kind of a weird memory management system you have to figure out what is and isn't managed.

there is no "best practice" in sepples

Is this the shortest possible prime checker in C?
isprime(n){int i=n/2,r=1;while(--i>1)n%i?0:(r=0);return r;}

No I am procrastinating from applying to jobs :(

any resources for learning java? using vscode as a text editor and lectures are not that useful, should i go through udemys java tutorial? or is there anything better?

I'm relearning Java so I can write smart card applets and destroy anime.

pls dont

How do you figure out what you are "interested" in within software development? I liked learning about algorithms in school which was part of why I liked AI was for the algorithms not so much the memes about robot gfs or whatever. And some programming definitely involves very little interesting or complicated algorithms which I wouldn't want to do. I think systems stuff could be cool too but honestly I don't really know what to say I just like programming basically.

Just received my programming socks and already working 175% faster

Only if you recommend some seinen without any harem shit.

>tfw learning but still Pajeet level so everyone makes fun of you

ROLLING

Gib good one.

>babby tier ascii art shit
Fuck this. I'm making a randomly generated smut rpg.

Roll

>C Compiler
Fucking easy.

does ruby have any application besides old rpg maker scripts

#!/bin/sh
exec cc "$@"

Writing a shitty C compiler is very easy. Write a performant one. I expect to see benchmarks against gcc and clang.

How do I copy the value held by a reference in sepples?

Attached: 1552280244152.jpg (1110x1553, 186K)

Ruby is general purpose, useful for anything from quick hacks to web spaghetti.

show me the way

Attached: 1556542482935.jpg (279x285, 19K)

I want nothing more than to rape every single one of them

Just started building a web game. I can animate a square moving across the screen right now.

Yeet

These rolling images are fucking shit and just spam /dpt/ with useless rolling posts.
If you're going to post that, do it in its own thread.

Attached: 1374580566292.jpg (344x209, 9K)

Do you have a resume made up? How about a cover sheet?

Your post is just as shit dude.

Yes I do I think I have improved it a lot. I have not gotten any replies yet for my new resume though. My old one got a few but also got a lot of rejections too.

It gives me ideas for things to write.

I'll try my best. I actually did have to make a shitty C-like compiler for my compilers class in Uni. But we wrote it in Java it was fun though.

>>It gives me ideas for things to write.
terrible ideas
just go write shit
be inspired

roll

>pass lots of pointers
You're bad at C.

>You're bad at C.
No, user, I believe that you are, in fact, the one who is bad at C.
