Now that we know that firefox is cucked, what browser do we use? Anything chrome-based is pure cancer(brave shills btfo). I've been using waterfox since the accident, and i'm quite happy with it. Still, its creator admits sending data to mozilla dealing with what addons are considered malicious and sending notifications. How do you disable that? Currently i doubt whether switching to palemoon is justified, though i do like how it looks.

used pale moon since forever never had a single issue

How is ff cucked please redpill

ive been using icecat on linux, after deleting gnu's gay addons and loading my own its nice, no bullshit and it just werks.
on my windows machine i installed waterfox, mostly fine but i noticed it would start to slow down over time during the day. no icecat windows version as far as i know

pale moon or vivaldi

There's not much reason to uninstall Firefox because it was only ever a dedicated porn browser.

It's not. firefox is top fox

I installed icecat on Windows, but it stutters and lags way too much for my comfort

>fell for icecat/ungoogled chromium meme
lel

Unironically Google Chrome

None. Or very occasionally, surf.

Icecat

unmozilla'd firefox

Haven't used fox in 5 years used to use Google chrome and now I use brave

there are no good options. brave is functionally inept, ff is unstable, bloated, and run by trannies, opera is a botnet, chrome is a botnet, vivaldi maybe (is it still proprietary? or it's chromium based, i can't remember why I hate this one), edge is about to be a chromium based botnet.

A fork of chromium or FF is probably your best bet although they still come with their own sets of deficiencies.

i'm begrudgingly using a fork of ungoogled-chromium for now until better choices exist. The UI is shit and there are no config options, but at least it's faster than FF and not run by trannies. If I were on linux I'd go with gnu icecat.

Press S to spit on its grave

The new update fixed FF

not it didn't
it broke some extensions like violentmonkey
where it won't fucking work unless you restart the browser without and with extensions again

nah it's still fucked. addons need to be individually updated so any old addons are fucked forever

Wish someone would get on unfucking Firefox completely. Even GNU's Icecat is just plain Firefox with a few minor config tweaks and some annoying addons, the Firefox botnet is still buried in the fucking thing.

BBS

>there will never be an unmozillad-firefox

Sounds like a real Jow Forums project to m-oh who am I kidding, Jow Forums can't actually do shit, Jow Forums barely knows how to write Hello World.

I can't help but laugh every time I see doge shooped onto something.

there was this
github.com/Librefox/Librefox

but it seems the cunts over at mozilla shut down development because of "trademark infringement". open source my ass

Oh for fucks' sake. There's nothing wrong with Firefox. Waterfox and Palemoon are basically just old versions of Firefox with a few pieces of duct tape here and there, not benefiting from any of the Quantum improvements, and in some ways way out of date. IceCat and other forks are basically just Firefox with certain features enabled/disabled etc.

Even if you like PaleMoon/Waterfox or especially IceCat etc.. then it benefits you to support and use Firefox since those improvements will be contributed to whatever fork you prefer. Also, most objections (including the overly sensitive ones) about Firefox can be fixed quickly with a setting, addon etc. If you don't want to opt into Telemetry, don't do so. If you don't want even the possibility of HTML5 DRM extensions, disable that sandbox plugin (though don't bitch that Amazon or Netflix or whatever the fuck won't work, if you use them), if you want to resist fingerprinting, enable the config setting. Use uBlock Origin, HTTPS Everywhere, etc... there really isn't anything worth bitching about

Sometimes I suspect the management in mozilla are google plants.

There's no fucking botnet. GNU IceCat IS an "unmozillaed" Firefox, and the fact its just a handful of tweaks should tell you something. Hell, there's a lot less fucking mozilla in regular Firefox if you choose to turn off certain things, compared to the amount of Google in even the most "scrubbed" Chromium based browser.

Stop freaking out, there's no Mozilla botnet.

What if I want to disable automatic updates and addon signing?

Why would you want that?
Do you have anything to hide?

Chromium with google stuff disabled or tor browser

Use ESR or Beta and then turn them off. They're just checkboxes.

Fuck off fascist

>there is no Mozilla botnet
Nice try, Mozilla.

If you're not an autist or a pajeet, Brave is unironically a great browser. Now watch as the NPC's screech at me and call me a shill.

Get the latest K-Meleon weekly.

But, user, that is the very definition of a shill.

Can we report Braveposters as spambots?

Holy shit.

Brave is an advertising company that wants to make money by substituting page advertisements with their own.

the choice is easy

You do realize everything else than firefox is cucked, use gnu icecat. It's firefox-esr but completely 'unfoxified'

How the fuck is icecat a meme? it's the only browser that actually cares about your privacy unlike that dog shit brave garbage

OP here. So, nothing better than icecat, huh? I might switch to that on my thonkpad, though i like palemoon on it. Also, i forgot to specify, i was asking for a dedicated windows laptop. Still, do you have a solution to waterfox spying? Also, now that i think of it, palemoon devs actually do a lot to keep an ancient browser updated, but waterfox is just firefox esr with minor differences. What is the point thanM

we need to make a white supremacist fork of FF or chromium.

Then literally use any mainline version of Firefox except release. Nightly , beta, developer edition etc ...all have a single about config setting that lets you disable signing enforcement. Likewise for auto updates. Neither is a big deal

What's wrong with firefox?

Every Browser that isnt Tor will allow every advertising and tracking company to read your online browsing history whether it be Waterfox Icecat Brave Links Ungoogled or Internet Explorer.

Only Tor or stock (!) Firefox configured like Tor can protect.

waterfox doesn't have Noscript, i cannot browse the internet without a good script blocking, this sucks

>Then literally use any mainline version of Firefox except release
Why would I do that when I could just use a good browser?

It takes less than 1 min setting up the flag in about:config to disable signature checking.
This whole thing is just pointless drama.

>This whole thing is just pointless drama.
Does Jow Forums do anything else?

tried that didn't work, firefox/mozilla shouldn't have made this mess in the first place, all i want is browsing online with script blocking damnit

doesn't work retard

>Jow Forums-tards are only now finding out about firefox's addon policy they've had for almost a year

Firefox.

It's fixed now, you fucking retards.

Attached: Firefox_mascot_-_FISL_16.jpg (1452x969, 239K)

That will definitely solve the addon-signing issue, maybe you're doing something wrong or have some other problem?

From what I can see, absolutely nothing. This thread is just a bunch of autists arguing about FF because somebody's browser lagged once.

I've never had an issue with FF on PC, but if weird alternate browsers make you hipsters happy, then go for it.

How difficult is it to write a complete browser from scratch?
I know about all the modern networking protocols and have implemented them on C++ (many of them)
I know how would I make a HTML parser but I don't know much about the JavaScript and its workings.

yeah, well it's a problem they caused and i don't see a solution, i'll take any browser that allows me to use Noscript at this point

You need either nightly or compiled with a certain flag on stable. So won't work on every binary.

Ever since the "quantum" update. FF has been top notch.

Sad for the SJW campaigns it's suppoting. They should be absolutely neutral.

Falkon browser.

>the choice is easy
those extensions won't work in the new version though.

On the next OS X update, you won't be able to install any extension that is not in the App Store.

>> 70855807

fucking space

This whole thing happened because mozilla wanted to ban dissenter, a free speech platform thats an extension.

How would i know? I dont know how to code. But judging how little small browsers exist, its not easy.

Iridium. It's Chrome with all the bad shit removed, but not an unusable mess that shows you 12 error pages every time you open it like ungoogled chromium.

Cringe
Use Basilisk.

Firefox is still the best option IMO

literally whats wrong with chrome?

youre not going to join the inevitable AI global network Internet 2.0 when it happens? Cause google is going to be on top of that

Thats precisely whats wrong with chrome.

So you are using tech, but not tech-tech ?

>Internet 2.0
>not 500 different local meshnets
dropped

People have been recommending waterfox to me since I am still using 55 and it is unlikely firefox will fix their old versions. But both brave and waterfox seems to have privacy issues and they both auto-update which I don't want.

Don't rely on Jow Forums hive mind to make decisions for you you stupid twat.
And have sex.

install gentoo

Best post.

Attached: allday.jpg (1536x2048, 500K)

You can consider me a luddite, but a rather liberal one. I do like tech, but dont like when tech actually makes me dependant on it.

I refuse to support a SJW company like Mozilla.

Attached: file.png (1200x900, 2.14M)

But i all was ask for recomendations(and how to disable some features in waterfox, which nobody has anwsered yet)
Spare laptop already runs gentoo :^)

*all i did

Let me guess.. you both are using the standard one instead of nightly or developer's mode?

Chromium Edge; the lightweight de-googled chrome browser that isn't some NEETs side project.

Not on vanilla firefox it wont. The source prevents this because mozilla thinks this functionality is "fundamental" for general consumer use.

The flag is actually meant for developer and nightly versions

>built for people, not for profit
fucking mozilla, if they wanted people to have a choice, why did they take away choice and nuke my extensions

Tor

Attached: honkhonk.jpg (710x520, 70K)

They didn't, you god-damned retard. They forgot to release a cert and as a result, the verification system disabled them because it thought they were fraudulent.

If you use the standard one then Mozilla considers you a technologically illiterate user, it's simple as that, much like Apple's little gated garden

He's complaining about the "xpinstall.signatures.required" working only on forks instead of the main project

If you need to turn off a standard security feature to get your browser working then no, it's not pointless drama, shit is broken and Mozilla is shitting the fucking bed. You shouldn't need to go into config files just to get your browser working, and it certainly shouldn't involve disabling shit.

Mozilla tranny grannys out in full force

I am happy with Seamonkey and Konqueror, here

I have a waterfox question
What's the best cross-origin blocker (Something like request policy) for it?
Request policy doesn't seem to work right (I can't even disable the international whitelist)

Attached: Screenshot_2019-05-05 How to Disable Automatic Updates in Mozilla Firefox 63.png (691x2062, 669K)

trannies are the decision makers now

>want to switch to a browser besides shitfox
>every browser thread is just shitposting
is icecat good or not, everytime it's mentioned people just say 'it doesn't work'

a dystopian cyber punk tier kill switch controlled by anonymous minions, or god forbid an actual automated process, at a multinational corporation has no business being in a web browser 'for the people'. It does not matter if this was on purpose or accidental in so far that arguement is concerned, this company shouldn't be able to remotely nuke things on YOUR computer for ANY REASON, EVER.

Of course shit is broken and they are already taking too much time to fix something that shouldn't take nearly as long but the big issue here (hence the "drama" part) are addons already installed that simply stopped working after this certs fiasco and not those to be installed.
There's no security risk as long as you don't behave like a regular user and install new unsigned shit and, even if you happen to do, you're more than welcome to validate it yourself and then sideload
