The only worth while distros you posted are slackware and gentoo. The rest are memes. Using obscure distros doesn’t make you cool it just puts you at a disadvantage.

Works too

Devuan is literally Debian with no systemdick. Is Debian obscure?

void is patrician. perfect balance between minimal and doing what ever the fuck you want. anything goes wrong or not available for void you can use the Arch wiki.

No but sysv init is obscure and it’s literal garbage.

The problem is, it has its own repos.
without-systemd.org/wiki/index.php/How_to_remove_systemd_from_a_Debian_Stretch_installation
Install the sysvinit packages: apt-get install sysvinit-core
Copy inittab: cp /usr/share/sysvinit/inittab /etc/inittab
Reboot the system: reboot
Prevent apt from installing systemd-related packages in the future: echo -e 'Package: *systemd*\nPin: release *\nPin-Priority: -1\n' > /etc/apt/preferences.d/systemd
HOLY SHIT, so hard! I'd rather install an unsupported meme Linux than dedicate five minutes to config my OS!

This.

slackware is the basedest based

>The problem is, it has its own repos.
The problem is, it doesn't. The packages are literally the same, not even a rebuild. Therefore they still link against libsystemd.so and such. Devuan has the most systemd of any non-systemd distro.

> The packages are literally the same, not even a rebuild
Ok, so there are two possibilities:
1) Devuan can be pointed to Debian repos and there's no point in installing Devuan in the first place.
2) Devuan can't be pointed to Debian repos and therefore some lag between updates exists.

1. cool and based.
2. redpilled

*BSD and arch are okay too

No, they are rebuilds, you fucking melt.

Reminder that OpenBSD is lacking the following things:
>A robust filesystem such as ZFS, btrfs, or HAMMER2
>Any kind of journaling FS
>SSD TRIM
>NFSv4
>Support for more than one core on various parts of the OS. The firewall, pf, is confirmed to be one of these parts, although there may be more.

You're just taking two extremes for no fucking reason
Most Devuan packages are pulled straight from Debian repos, with the exception of a few ones that the Devuan team maintains (like gksudo or policykit) that Debian deprecated in favor of systemd replacements, and a few ones that are rebuilt since Debian doesn't build sysvinit support on a lot of packages nowadays
>inb4 then just maintain the packages on Debian
Debian has refused to accept maintenance offers in the past

The mild approach Devuan takes its in my opinion quite cucked, since Debian maintainers even strip upstream support of sysvinit in packages that don't even support systemd, like dnscrypt-proxyv2
Most of them aren't, their repo infrastructure it's made around the premise of pulling packages that don't need patching or rebuilding straight from Debian, to reduce costs and reduce the maintenance burden, thus having speedier updates

>filename is not NOpenBSD.png
You're not the real one.

I don't need any of those.

OK, now I understand what Devuan does. However, I believe there's no fault of Debian foundation in declining sysvinit support: probably maintainer does not want it.

Devuan and Antix user here

You are fagpilled, it would seem

Some of these I get but I can't imagine actually thinking that the lack of free or lsblk is a problem
like, are you too fucking dense to run dmesg, vmstat, sysctl hw.disknames, disklabel?

> are you too fucking dense
Yes. It's possible to get by without it, but like any other tool, it simplifies a certain workfrow.

Unlike free, vmstat does not seem to display available ram. Kinda important.
and like says, these newer GNU/Linux utilities provide a much cleaner output.
