AMD is releasing the same shit all over again with slight +500mghz bump like intel

I always get concerned when AMD fans over hype something.
It's never a good sign.
They are now claiming a 15% IPC bump
5.0ghz 16 core chips at 95w TDP
5,000mhz memory
Mid range budget chip beating the 9900k
These are not realistic metrics.
It's like a Honda Civic owner trying to cope with the fact he'll never own a faster car.

>5.0ghz 16 core chips
Nope, they claim the 5.0 Ghs is for 12 cores chips

>It's like a Honda Civic owner trying to cope with the fact he'll never own a faster car.
Whereas Intel fans are like the people that buy super expensive fast cars and use them for commuting, never exceeding 80mph.

>+500 million gigahertz

Intel is dead.

Oh my bad.
12.cores 5.0ghz on the stock cooler right?
AMD fans will enjoy Xeon performance for just $300.

>only twelve cores at 5.1 GHz
Intel coping this fucking hard.

>Civic
AMD is the 86. It's a sports car that isn't really that fast... but feels good to drive

>Xeon performance
Well, AMD fans do this already with zen1, and Intel fans also do enjoy closed to Xeon performance now than ever. Say thanks to AMD faggot.

Reminder that Zen 3 will have hyperthreading with 3 to 4 threads per core

holy...fuck, but we should get AM4+ so that we can use older AM4 CPU's with DDR5/PCIE4.0

Nobody does SMT3 as its all kinds of retarded.

Please elaborate.

>consumer software today can barely make use of the parallelism available 5 years ago
>let's widen the pipeline even more
based retards

In simplistic terms everything in cpus is done in pairs so nobody is going to run 3 threads per core - it will be 2 (like now) or 4 or - if you are IBM - 8.

True. My piece of shit i3 4160 still barely hiccups when it comes to daily tasks.

It’s not pairs, it’s powers of two.

This. I tried to run make -j3 once and my cpu exploded.
