I use an external one man, since most cases i like don't have a place for internal readers, also i am really eager to get an r5 2600 but most people are telling me to wait.

Has that piece of shit Speccy finally updated to show modern hardware with more than 8GB of VRAM or 9900K's?

Can't wait to slap a 3600/3700 in here and resume comfy.

Going to upgrade to a 1660ti and either a 6600k or 7600k soon.

Performs great if you are not a shittard that plays at ultra or 4k

Based Kentsfield, a friend of my uncle is wiping the hard drive and giving me his old rig with a P5N-E SLI board in it, not sure what CPU it has, but it can have a Q6600.

It's not worth upgrading this pc anymore, so i'll just do a new build in a year or two.

Still a really good 1080p rig until PS5 and shit comes out.

muh ram
anyone with fast ram is ok in my book, even intel fags

Attached: Untitled.png (672x532, 37K)

Oddly enough, FX chips don't give a fuck how slow the ram is, maybe because the ipc is so poor, but I don't know why my cinebench barely goes up as I crank the ram multiplier.

Consider OCing NB and HT bus.

Attached: 21.png (427x990, 54K)

I normally use a 225 bus with 1800MHz ram when I'm running it at 4.5GHz, but the score isn't any better than 200 bus with a 22.5 multi and 1866 RAM.

My HyperX ram does do 2005MHz stable on memtest with default 1.5 voltage and a 215 bus speed, which is fantastic, but 1800MHz ram with a 4.5GHz core speed is normally what I roll with.

Attached: FX-8350.png (428x421, 59K)

Attached: SharedScreenshot.jpg (586x413, 48K)

Please tell me that ram is 2400Mhz and not 600MHz like speccy is suggesting.

>Dat HT link
I also can get my generic Samsung sticks to ~2k-something MHz. No voltage or timings loosening help to go past that.
I can increase multiplier to 22, which will get me to the ~4.75 GHz at 1.475V, which will be stable enough to play gaymen, but those are diminishing returns and it gets HOT during summer.

Attached: 134.jpg (404x403, 87K)

yup it's 2400 mhz

good guess.

>1.475V
FX gets really hot on air once you hit a.1.45 or higher, I can hit 4.5 at 1.4v, but I'd need 1.45 for 4.5 because 1.425 would not work under prime. I've got big a Hyper T4 cooler and 1.45 is still to warm.

I don't know how my Ht link goes that high on stock voltage either, I don't know if my Gigabyte board applies the load line calibration to the NB as well, but for what this board cost back then, the overclocking was amazing.

Yeah normally speccy divides your ram speed by 2 but in your case it divided is by 4 for some reason.

>1.45 for 4.5
for 4.6**

Funny thing about AM3+ boards prices:
So initially, in 2013, I bought Asus M5A97 Evo R2.0 for my build. In 2017 stopped booting normally, dudes in closest computer shop knew shit and diagnosed it's condition no better than me, so I assumed it's dead (or still lying in comatose in the box). So I bought a used Sabertooth 990fx - paid $100 for a 6 year old board. Guess what, now it sells for $150 in my area.

Attached: waqde.jpg (560x415, 59K)

Oh it's insane what's going on with AM3+ boards, there was a time where I was getting new in box 990FX UD3 boards for like $120 but now it's damn near $200 if someone happens to post on on eBay, which is a shame because the price of an FX-8350 brand new is super low, two 8GB 1866 HyperX sticks that I have are now under $100, but a good overclocking mobo like the later revision UD3 is the deal breaker.

Yeah, money you mentioned will get you a decent brand new Ryzen build nowadays. And the aforementioned Gigabyte and Asus MBs are very nice ones, but definitely not the best. So who will spend so much dosh for these? I'm convinced that enthusiasts will hunt for Crosshair V Formula or this behemoth.

Roast me

Attached: spec cap.png (714x531, 41K)

The ASrock Extreme9s and Crosshair formulas had amazing VRMs for FX even back in 2011, the VRM on the midrange 990FXA-UD3 was trash until 2013 when revision 4 came out, but the sabertooth 990FX had a good VRM from the start.

idk, but it's been pretty hot the past few days and the M.2 drvie doesn't have a heatsink on it and there's no case fans in my case (RVZ02 MITX case), probably why, don't notice any slowdown though
