Planning to get one of those monstrosities solely for 144hz and a 6+ core CPU. I don't like using desktop PCs.

Imagine whipping out this shit and trying to mog your average zoomer gaming laptop owner.

I have the one you have on pic.
I use it as a Hypervisor on the go.

A laptop will never even come to close achieving desktop speeds no matter the components since thermal throttling is always a thing in a smaller form factor, even smaller desktops have this problem.
Holy mother of reddit, why are there so many morons that fall for the gayman laptop meme?

Gaming laptops have great thermals. The high end laptops hit POWER limits sooner than thermal limits.

>I don't like using desktop PCs.
Did you even read what he said?

>Holy mother of reddit, why are there so many morons that fall for the gayman laptop meme?
Who do you think they are designed for?

Stupid kids I'd guess based on the design of these things

I refuse to believe that you can't make an actually powerful non-throttling laptop with modern tech. I think there is none just because everything has to be fucking 5 millimeters thin and weigh like 10 grams.

Yep. Stupid children and stupid manchildren.

My Acer Aspire V Nitro has one of its fans broken. I don't repair it because even one is enough to not throttle. And it's relatively thin. Not with the full GPU + full CPU obviously, but when it was functional it could keep turboboost clocks while running prime95 and furmark.

Bought picrel 1 month ago. I haven't seen it go above 70˙degrees yet

What's that external keyboard please?!

I have an Asus ROG Strix II, it’s really nice but the fans are kind of loud. I don’t mind it too much since it has good thermals, the specs are:

Core i7-8750H 6c12t
16gb DDR4
Gtx 1070 8GB gddr5
512gb m.2 ssd
144hz 3ms 1080p monitor

Tbqh for me it’s a desktop replacement, not bad considering I got it for $1,300. Battery life sucks though, there’s no way to switch to the integrated intel graphics so it’s stuck running the 1070 the entire time lol

also 18,4"
4,6 kg = 10 lbs
fite me

>play games but also can use better hardware for software dev
>Laptop selection here is shit, either have to go with a gamer laptop with gamer doodads and markups or import a business laptop, with an equally large markup and no warranties

Based qosmio user

My 2019 clevo smokes most pc's including gaming desktops. Thermals not a problem, real limit is the 330watt psu.

I have the HP omen 15.
i7-8750H
12 ram
1tb hdd + 128 ssd
1050ti

Pretty good overall, the only bad thing is the battery

Literally any desktop with the same components will run better than your shittop, this is a simple reality.

The Dell XPS 15 is a good choice if you don't want gamer bling.
The Aero 15x is good if you want a numberpad and a better gpu with a slight comprise to battery life and size (99 vs 94WHr)
The thinkpad X1 extreme has a 1050ti and looks like a normal laptop.

or you can just go the quadro route....

or you can read the post I replied to...or you an reply in a thread about gaming laptops why someone should buy a quattro card in a laptop over a gaming one.

I almost got a gaymen laptop, but decided a mini-itx build would be more fun to build and also be more powerful. I got my x220 as a laptop and I'm not gonna be playing video games anywhere but home

Give us your parts list

So liberals are rich?

pcpartpicker.com/list/pqWkpG
I own most of these parts. I'm basically buying the motherboard, gpu, and case. I might wait until AMD finally says what Navi is in case it's more worth it than a 1660ti, but my RX 590 is too big to fit in this case

sorry that was an example build for my friend in the Navy, this is mine
pcpartpicker.com/list/3BWkpG

Not bad at all.
I'm thinking of doing a 2400g mini itx build just to fuck around with it.

Sounds like fun. That Silverstone Mini-Itx case is so versatile you can practically do anything with it. If you're going Apu though unironically wait for Zen2 because that's probably where some of the biggest 7nm improvements will be

Some of us don't spend all out time in one spot. Move my machine between two locations daily, more places some days.

>Hey guys I don't need a desktop but rather a laptop and could use some advice on a mobile compromise
>HEY LAPTOPS SUCK DESKTOPS ARE BETTER, haha got em xD

Good luck getting your desktop to run off a battery for 5 hours. How big would that lead acid UPS be exactly? Also most desktops are more expensive and don't have both gb eth and WiFi. My laptop has WIFI AX built in.

Christmas that's awful. 1050ti was weak on launch barely 1080p capable. Also your ram is wrong.Do yourself a favour and put two 8GB in there and you'll get dual channel

TX8 rebrand. i5-9400, 16gb some shit MHz ram, 512gb m.2 SSD, rtx2060, paid for the upgrade from 100% sRGB 144hz screen to 85%-90% DCI-P3. Cost $1100 with the screen upgrade

The thing I like most about this is that it looks like a normal laptop.
Runs pretty well.
Just slapped an extra 4GB in it today (the other 4GB is soldered).

>i7 4710 hq
>gtx 860m
>16gb ram
>1tb hhd no ssd
still doing fine but i am surprised that i paid $700 for this one like 4 years ago and now it's hard to find a good price for a laptop with 16gb of ram, i am thinking of getting an ssd and later get a new one with a 1660 ti.

GTX 1060 with the intel 8750-H

Attached: ROG_PC_Image.jpg (1000x679, 98K)

just set up a couple of these for a client, a rich friend. very impressive build quality and it ran all the games the dude wanted at max/ultra settings. the other was a smaller, razer blade 'stealth' that weighs

I have the same lappy, you should have hit the up before the warrenty ran out, I bitched about the audio driver issues enough to have them send a tech that told me how to get a free replacment and fix the old one, now I have two of these heavy fuckers, aside from the weight I've been super happy.

Thunderobot with a 1070 absolutely love it had for a year so far only throttles on battery

just how new are you?
