OP needs one singular recommendation for closed, bassy, below $50

Man breakfast in America is a great album.

the reason i assume most high end headphones have
>nobass
is because having a driver smaller than your hand in a cabinet nearly as small, would just be unable to reproduce bass.
most speakers up to like 8" people will usually crossover at 80hz for a dedicated sub that can more aaccurately do bass. people with bigass floor speakers can just use their 10" drivers in a massive cabinet and they'll be fine.

I came across these Denon AH-MM400, are they any good?

Attached: Denon AH-MM400.jpg (1500x1000, 115K)

idk if anyhone here owns them but based on shilling id say sure

not it's because "below $50"
people come in this thread for "below $50" recommendation and expect a miracle

koss ksc75
it wont have bass but goddamn they beat out my hd600 easy

Alright, thank you.

one of my favorites of all time desu
got this new turntable today, technics 1300.
i was like whats the first thing i wanna hear

Love it

first for SUMMIT FI

bruh im loving the tt in op ;o;
got a technics 1300 and omg it sounds so much better than my lp120. so much less noise and distortion and all that.

I bought them for my wife as a gift. They are nice cans for day-to-day casual listening. Easy to drive. Sound is good right amount of detailed but easy to listen. Build is pretty solid too. Isolation is good enough for not very loud public places.

gf has a set of like vmoda crossfades and i put them on
wasn't too impressed by the sound but goddamn those things are tanks.

glad to hear user, I prefer listening to vinyl when I have the time. what cart/phono stage are you using?

Attached: B383C8EA-48B0-4CF1-A2A3-70C0D76F3AEA.jpg (4032x3024, 2.5M)

i just have the stock at cart it came with, little yellow thingie. i may get a better cart later but this is already league ahead of the lp120.
the preamp is just my onkyo 8220. have everything hooked up to that these days. tape deck, stax, optical for my computer :D
i had a choice today to get a uturn orbit or a cheap kenwood, but i knew the guy had good turntables in the back and everyone was telling me to get a technics 1200 or 1400.
he had the 1300 he was using for testing so it was all cleaned and ready to go.
played some bowie on it to check the sound and its absolute bliss.
plus im not a huge huge fan of the autostart and stop but its a cool thing to have.

>had a feeling that sound in headphones got quieter
>gradualy gets even more quieter over two weeks
>legit scared that i'm losing hearing
>open them up, the cable is on the verge of being broken, relapse it with fatass cable used to connect speakers
>they get lound again

Ideally I want something that can be driven by the Topping MK3 or the FiiO K3

Save up for Stax

what’s listening to user?

Why nobody makes a players with powerful AMP built in I don't want to carry two devices that won't fit in the pocket if slapped together.

What DAP and headphones are you using? Is the ALO Continental really needed?

ak70 mk2, hd800s. yes.

Dang that's a nice set up

I’m surprised how well the cdm/hd800s can sound, wasn’t expecting this from a portable setup.

I’ve been curious about the tube distortion from these hybrid amps. Can you hear the bass second harmonics, and how does it make music sound?

if you can’t demo, do what everyone else does and find a good deal on second hand so you can resell for little loss if you don’t like how it sounds.

Any thoughts on this? AD500X, currently $71 in amazon, $20 less than the AD700X. I'm looking for something "brighter" than my old HD595's. Will the AD500/700X will be good for music, especially soundtracks/OST, Pop/JPop? I ask because they seem to be the first choice for gamers.

buy stax tbdesu

another thread, another victory for stax

Is it so hard to make a pastebin for this general, like every other general worth a lenny has? Wtf, just put in a FAQ, explain a few of the commonly used terms like "soundstage" and smack in a few basic recommendations for beginners, like buying advice

buy stax, basically

Not a fan of too much bass. I like metal I guess.

Sennheiser HD 558

I'm considering the Sennheiser Game One's because it has a great mic attached to it and apparently it has the same sound as my HD 558's. I really want an attached mic and this seems like my best bet. Don't bother giving me the "you can buy a separate mic".

Attached: 1.jpg (1080x1704, 230K)

there are only sidegrades to 558 at that price point.

Attached: 1421583870734.png (528x498, 201K)

That's fine. They are 4 or 5 years old and the ears are clogged up with dead skin and God knows what else. How high would I have to go for an improvement out of curiosity?

amazon.com/Philips-SHP9500S-Precision-Over-ear-Headphones/dp/B00ENMK1DW

'Summary: I think the HD558 is overrated, its "smoothness" is more like it slurs the notes like it's drunk, I'd take the SHP9500 over it regardless of price, and Beyerdynamic DT990 is the greatest thing since sliced bread.'

Attached: 1423017603290.png (1184x1526, 35K)

>It doesn't have a mic

get a separate mic, those exist.

audeze.com/products/lcd-collection/lcd-gx

go fuck yourself

Attached: ADZ_LCD-GX-Banner_1.png (1420x902, 1.91M)

They are also a huge pain in the ass. I literally wrote in my post "Don't give me the whole get a separate mic". Please for god's sake don't meme me

is amirm a shill fraud?
his measurements seem contrived

who doesn’t want to know how inaudible specs of budget gear measures?

Stax and Spectral DAC tonight

Just get a wireless modmic you sperging faggot

wew lads this general is almost dead, I can feel it!

amir is our fucking god

From a casual listener who just wants better gear for audio (console gaming and smartphone/PC listening), is there a big difference between Sennheiser 598 and 599?

They are the same headphones just renamed.
Get the 58X instead.

I don't know about you, but I'd definitely like to know whether there are any real audible differences between that $100 amp and that $1,000 amp.

There might be audible differences because 1000$ doesn't necessary means transparency. The difference generally is output power and interfaces.

Convince me not to buy a LCD-2.2 instead of a Elex, for around the same price.

Attached: O1hA97l.jpg (449x450, 29K)

___ ___

If you want to get an idea of what the Audeze house sound is like, try EQing in a dip at 4 kHz so that it's 8 dB below neutral (might have to make the dip smaller if your headphones are V-shaped/bassy).

It'll make the music sound like it's playing from far away, but if you like it, buy the LCD. If you would rather have the music sound like it's playing right in front of you, the Elex is the better choice.

The DT770 pros suck ass. there is no mids and the highs sound like they are going through a filter.
My fucking sol republic master tracks can push better sounding audio than this.

we used to have one but i found the best thing was just to put it all in the op
i COULD make a pastebin though if you wanted me to >:T

id be a bit self conscious tho cause i suck at writing ;-;

For the 4th time, I don't want a fucking modmic you cunt. It's 80 fucking dollars. Now, do you know of a better headset with a mic than the Sennheiser Game One's or don't you, faggot?

Same as this guy. But I live in a third world country, so my budget is like 50 bucks.
>Wtf is stax?

steelseries is fine >.>

folks i have made the pastebin
hastebin.com/tutisavero.coffeescript

Save for Stax

hd600

How on Earth do you get to know people who don't use $7 earbuds in real life?
My brother refuses to use anything else and I even gave him my Momentums.

i'm like 17% sure the Jow Forums discord is full of trannies
that would be the first place to look

What? Make smarter posts please.

i thought that was clever ;-;

Attached: O0YXQuY.png (1968x558, 66K)

If I offended you, I'm sorry.

I currently own a pair of HE400s with the focus pads. Those are very good, but I want more base extension and mainly, more detail. I've heard good things about the LCD, but the Focal can probably get better detail, I reckon. I'm not into things sounding "in your face" too.

50 won't buy anything worth it, unless we're talking Chinese IEM. In this case, look into the T2, T3, Kinera Seed OR KZ ZS10, or whichever KZ just launched.
Seriously, you're better expending your money on something that will last and has a decent sound quality.

nu now i am sad :(

lol, steelseries is gaymer scam

Buy Stax

Attached: 029385028734295.jpg (1200x800, 329K)

you asked for an ok headset, not ok headphones user >:T
especially when you're asking for wireless.

so i got my beyer dynamics dt 770 studios and they are excellent though i get some sort of interference from them through my motherboard should i buy a cheap sound card to prevent this? or is there some other way to achieve this?

fiio e10k

fiio e10k

>80 dollars
thats gonna have to wait a few paychecks

dragonfly something

thats like 100 dollars lol

so a sound could would do me no good what so ever/?

whatever is the cheap dongle equivalent of that
point is, you want any external DAC

it'd be better than onboard but still very much subject to EMIs
plus it wouldn't even be cheaper than an usb alternative

yeah that'd work fine
amazon.com/Creative-Labs-70SB173000000-Sound-Blaster/dp/B06XBZ38ZJ/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=usb dac&qid=1558116356&s=gateway&sr=8-4

they can but really that's an expensive solution to a cheap problem.
and if you're gonna blow 10 bucks on a cheap sound card that may or may not fix the problem, might as well get a 10 dollar usb cable that does the same thing just maybe better.

what abouts this?

amazon.com/PROZOR-Digital-Converter-Supports-control/dp/B06XDLCHY7?ref_=fsclp_pl_dp_4

id be a bit worried about that one because it has a lot of components
could cause noise and interference and stuff

ebay.co.uk/itm/Audio-Technica-ATH-ADX5000-Reference-Air-Dynamic-Open-Back-headphones-/293089989864
insane price, just buy it

Attached: 1544556665657.jpg (1000x800, 61K)

so what one should i get?

gonna get your teeth ripped out
