Thank fuck for that. It's a dumb fucking gimmick and going beyond 720p is just wasting battery for no reason. Screens over 1200p only make sense on laptop/desktop.

Wll, I got my iphone 8 256gb for 50 bucks (1.67/month for 30 months). In my area, only one cell carrier works worth a shit anyways, so I'm locked to them, and iOS users won't use anything but iMessage, so if you want to have e2e encrypted conversations with them, you have to buy apple hardware. Android users have no issue making Signal their default messenger (especially if you're willing to do the install for them). That's why I use apple (although I can't imagine buying another phone until well after the next text message protocol is released, which is supposed to be e2e encrypted by default, at which point, I'll probably go with OnePlus.

The 8 is an ok phone. Works well enough, and is secure enough if you don't use iCloud.
