Why is Chinese backdoor worse for me, as a European, than an American backdoor?

This is my story on how I got "scammed" by Huawei..

About 8 years ago I was studying for some networking certs like CCNP. The training center was run by some Chinese businessman who had contacts with the Chinese Gov and Huawei.
They were trying to push their hardware in Australia and there told me if I get their Huawei networking certs I can get a job with them. They had a nice building and even 8 years ago they had some great networking hardware. I found their switches os was very competitive, the cli was easy to learn and they were doing some things like RSTP better than Cisco..

Anyway I get the certs.. the course was free but I had to pay for the exam fees ($109 at that time).

I actually get an interview with their snr network engineer and a manager.

I think my interview went pretty good but in the end I found out they were looking only for people who could speak mandarin.. (Chinese people only)
The interviews for Westerns were more for show. I was told this by someone in the company later on.
The only person who wasn't Chinese in that office (in the all building for that matter) was from Iran.
They actually hired a friend of mine (Chinese), he didn't know shit and struggled to get certified. Anyway he got the job over me because of being Chinese.

This tells you everything you need to know about Huawei... I actually like their hardware, first phone was Huawei Nexus and I think they do a lot of things better then the Western counterpart.. but surely their politics is bs.

Let's be honest: there probably is one. It isn't the reason for this ban though, it's about banning competition and maintaining profit margins.

It's not about backdoors this time but Huawei doing business with Iran or some similar CIA spin.

Either way I have a foreign backdoor, so I'd rather have the chinks use my information than the Americans.
