Just get a brother brand one

I got link related, and haven't ever had a problem. Cheap, too.

you got an Samsung, right?

The only good printers are laser printers. They're more expensive but holy fuck are they much more reliable and usable.
Otherwise just take your fucking shit to some copy store/library/etc and print it. Who the fuck uses dead tree shit anymore, anyway.

i've owned the same bullet proof HP mono laser for roughly 10 years, it has literally never cost me a penny. stop using inkjet printers user

I'm pretty sure it's (((HP)))

>They're more expensive
only if you want a colour printer but honestly how often do you print in colour? i only ever print documents so a cheap mono laser is all you need.

lol

Get a HP printer they have official Linux support.
Download hplip and xsane on linux.
Connect via USB to prevent wifi botnets.

They all can take ghostscript too.
Get a CIS (continuos ink system)
then you are perfected with software and hardware.

Enjoy being the master of your machine again.

dont do this.
this is a wintard saying this becuase brother printers require kernel modules or blobs to run go with the HP

Nice reverse kikery rabbi.

Check your distro. It's already in debian/ubuntu repos.

as a tech support guy for insurance and legal companies...

FUCK PRINTERS! THEY ARE THE BANE OF MY EXISTENCE!

you know what's worse? YOU KNOW WHAT'S FUCKING WORSE? WIRELESS FUCKING PRINTING AND SCANNING!

>plebbit kike shilling HP
color me surprised

These have it right. There is no real way of expressing the hatred I have for printers with words alone. Everything went to shit the last years. I was having a good time with a canon mp600r for a couple of years but after 2009 things went fubar. These devices ARE MEANT TO FAIL QUICKLY. And it should be forbidden and planned obsolescence should be regulated in the most fascistic manner imaginable.

(Laser is not an option and never was. We want ink and we want it in a way where were're not exploited in the most abominable way possible.)

I currently have my sister's Windows laptop that arbitrarily cannot trust EPSON's drivers despite my Windows desktop and Ubuntu laptop that say otherwise.

I want to burn this fucking world to the ground fueled by a hellfire of inkjets and I'm still kicking my ass on getting another inkjet. I COULD'VE GOTTEN A LASER PRINTER BUT GOD DAMNIT I DIDN'T.

Back up in your ass with the resurrection
It's the group harder than an erection
That shows no affection

Why is laser not an option?
Cheaper, faster and never had any ink problems

Unless you're printing hq pictures or something

- color too expensive
- inferior print quality bw and color
- deforming of paper due to heat
- cancer due to dust
- heavier/bulkier devices
- toners expensive
- no multi-functional devices (scanning + printing) in a reasonable budget range
- when in need of forging documents laser is a no-go and ink is the only option

I could go on here....

HP breaks a lot so..

Weev probably broke the printer

>tfw still using a Lexmark Optra S from 1998
>got it for free from a company dumping them
>came with duplex + ethernet
>18,000 pages off a $50 toner cartridge, lasts literally years
>fuser and rollers good for over 250,000 pages, still haven't gone bad & cheap to swap if they do
>128MB memory, rivaling modern printers
>1200dpi, also rivaling modern printers

128MB from 1998?

>inferior print quality bw and color
true but irrelevant for anything that isn't graphic design or photography, which generally requires its own specialized large-format printers
>toners expensive
is it anywhere near the cost of ink?
>deforming of paper due to heat
paper deforms when soaked with ink, too
>cancer due to dust
fix yo shit
>heavier/bulkier devices
stop trying to carry a printer around with you wtf
>no multi-functional devices (scanning + printing) in a reasonable budget range
define reasonable, there are plenty of options
>when in need of forging documents laser is a no-go and ink is the only option
?

Stock is 4MB but it takes standard 72-pin SIMMs for expansion, so it was maxed out when the memory became dirt cheap

That's impressive ngl assuming the printer can actually make use of it

No complaints so far.

I don't want to sound like a shill, but any1 else using bottled ink?
I got mine 8 months ago and haven't run into any, problems. Haven't refilled anything despite printing 20 color pages daily.

Outsource your printing or don't print at all

i havent heard anything bad about those kind of printers.

I had a 1hr dance with a HP printer and HPLIP. Probably not the driver's fault, but it was excruciating.
>Error 5012

Best I've had so far was a Samsung laser one. Fuck colors, buy laser.

fpbp

This. Print maybe 10 times a year. All text documents. Ink+color, if you are out of school, are useless bullshit.

they aren't bad but for the price they're like $50 printers with a reservoir. printers around those price points have way more shit (auto duplex, ADF, non-basic UI, etc)
