Would you still recommend the show to someone up to a certain season, or would it be too cruel to get them invested in something with absolutely zero good conclusions to any plotlines?

Its worth it up to season 3 or 4 but you'll want to finish it regardless of how shit it turns into being.

I've been watching narcos Mexico, and the real world is way more fucking brutal and interesting than this fantasy drama sexland bullshit. Also, fuck TV shows that go on forever and milk their fucking name until it dies. Life is to short to watch all that. If they are really into shit like game of thrones, then they should read the novel version instead of wasting away in front of the TV.

the show indeed went downhill but overall as a whole it's still a great story that you should watch as a whole and is definetly one of the best series out there.... hold up isn't this Jow Forums?

There was never any expectation towards the xfiles ending because the main plot was always shit. This show way always about the motw episodes. Quality went down with the seasons but there were good episodes in each one.
