The first ever OS and computer I saw and interacted with was some version of NEXTSTEP running on a Nextstation at my parents' workplace.
Mac OS 8 was the first OS I actually used to play games on our home computer.

Slackware was really popular in the 90s all the books on linux either came with slackware or redhat, I could never get online with linux, the only modem of mine it would recognize was an external 9600 that was too slow even then.

Didnt stop me from installing it 200 times just to get board and reinstall windows 95 200 times.
