As I waste mist of my day on Jow Forums and jewtube this would be shit.

Reposting my call for help.

I have an HDD from ~2007 with some important old family files on it I want to retrieve. However, it keeps telling me i dont have permission to view them, or copy them onto my current PC.

I can manually change individual files but I can't figure out how to gain access to entire folders. please help

Boot up a GNU/Linux live USB and retrieve the files using that.

My sister has a weird problem. We're both using Windows 10 and since a few days, she can't view Instagram stories on her browser anymore. It works fine on my machine.,and I've tried ruling out all kinds of reasons and I'm out of ideas.

I've tried other browsers with fresh profies and no addons.
I've tried disabling Windows firewall.
I've tried disabling Windows Defender.
I've cleaned the hosts file.

The weird thing is that it only affects instagram stories. Usual video postings, Youtube etc everything works. It must be something on OS level but I can't figure it out.

Welp, that explains it. Support for Ryzen APUs was added to the kernel very recently, Mint Cinnamon probably uses an older kernel. The latest release of Ubuntu (19.04) should boot up just fine.

Not as far as we know, and screens have been around long enough for long term effects to become visible. If anything, CRTs would have been the ones to cause cancer, but I'm not aware of any evidence for it whatsoever.

Usually easy to find by doing 'hackintosh vm guide.' I recommend following one because you have to do some special VM fuckery, it's not straightforward like linux or bsd distributions.

So I upgraded from an Android 7 rom to 9 and now Dashchan frequently crashes. The error is something about an invalid activity getting events. I tried multiple AOSP/Lineage based roms.

I have a HP elitebook 830 G3. It's a business class laptop I guess. It has a 1080 screen and when I try to play big 4k video it stutters adn lags. I'm assumign this is because it has to transcode that to 1080 right? if I using an external 4k monitor it should be able to easily playback that 4k content because it does so natively right? Is the laptop strong enough that I could for example use a docking station, have 2x 4k monitors plugged in and run all three at once? Or just the one.

I like how I can simply drag/drop icons on my Android into folders, and when I tap on a folder on the homescreen it pops open a little window containing the original icons. From there, I can tap the icon I want (open camera, stock camera, etc) and it doesn't leave anything open when it's done.

anyway, most people use umatrix + ublock origin over noscript these days, but umatrix is even more difficult to configure than noscript.
