I want to stick with air cooled, dont want to deal with liquid cooling leaks...
is the wraith prism that comes with the 2700x good enough to keep it cool? or should i save a few bucks get the 1800x and get a bigger cpu cooler for it
the stock coolers are good for stock, they will keep it cool enough, but they're not quiet under load
Henry Wood
Don't clutter the board.
Eli Brooks
is it worth the 80 bucks for get a be quiet rock 4 ? or should i just stick with the stock cooler
Landon Campbell
>dont clutter my board yea youre a faggot for sure
Parker Jones

I use it. and it works well. take note that it does have a little switch on it you can toggle to go from almost silent, to... not. I keep it switched to high because even so it's normally no louder than any other fan in my case. But yeah it will really ramp up if you put all 8 cores under full load for too long.
TLDR: Yeah it will be a bit noisy under extreem load but will still do the job. Unless you are overclocking.
Jeremiah Rivera
I hope AMD introduces an enthusiast class stock HSF positioned above Wraith Max as upcoming cpus are 12, 16 cores and all unlocked, running above 4ghz. Their cooling solution oem partner is coolermaster right? Maybe 92mm variant of the 212. This small cube of 92mm fan, socket 775 cooler from HP was great. Kept a 95w Q6600 at around 50 degrees during full load.
The prism is mostly fine but you will stay on boost clocks higher with an aftermarket cooler.
As for watercooling leaks, I had a friend have a GPU die due to a AIO watercooling solution dripping onto the back of his GPU. That has made me turn away from that concept. AIOs are probably better these days but I'd rather not risk it.

the wraith prism in my situation is cooling down a 4.7ghz 8350 granted in gaming it goes up to 70c but its ok so far

Op you have several opinions and I will list three of them in no particular order :
1: I would not get the 1800x over the 2700x , the 2700x is faster 2: the stock cooler that comes with the 1800x/2700x is fine if you don't plan to overclock 3: I wouldn't buy either the 2700x or the 1800x since the new ryzens are right around the corner. This is coming from someone who has owned both processors and thinks very highly of both.
>they will keep it cool enough, but they're not quiet under load This is exactly my experience with my 2700X cooler. It works fine but it screams. I'm about ready to upgrade to something quieter and more effective but haven't decided what, and as much as I hate to admit it I really like the look of the stock cooler and will miss seeing it in there.
Jackson Thomas
lik what? the prim is literally better than a 212 evo on every benchmark i have seen so far
its hard to find something better and QUIET in air
Connor Garcia
In all honesty I'd wait for Ryzen 3000 Then either get a 3700x or a 2700x for like 40 bucks less by then 1800x isn't worth it
Blake Gutierrez
Definitely this, wait a few months.
Ryder Johnson
Do you need it today? Wait a week for the zen2 reveal, prices will drop. Think you can wait a little longer? Go for zen2
I have the 2600x, the Performance in sc2 is ok but not great, the boxed cooler is loud and i don't understand how people say it's quiet. If you don't need the cores, save money and buy a 6c ryzen But i would suggest to wait for zen 2
Brody Hall
wait until 7th July for Zen2.
Eli Murphy
Why would you buy a PC now when Zen 2 is released next week?
Luis Richardson
Redpill me on Zen 2.
Robert Powell
More cores, higher frequencies, better ram support
Elijah Jackson
Nietzsche Price predictions?
Wyatt Parker
8c should be 250 euros but higher sc Performance than what we have now
Sebastian Hughes
>zen 3xxx almost here >I think ill buy a zen 2xxx series! Absolute autism

My son uses the spire with his r5 1600 and has zero overheating issues. Maxes out around 61c. based

You'll have a CPU faster than a 9900K for 250€/$ It will also be considerably faster than a 2700X.
Anthony Ramirez
Now I kinda regret building a new PC a few months back with a Ryzen 7 2700X.
Christian Lopez
Wait 1 fucking week for Ryzen 3600x. It's what, 12 core 24 thread at 4.2GHz, with better IPC than Ryzen 1/2?
AMD stock coolers like the ones you posted are great. They actually had to make the Max cooler more scarce, because it was ruining the market for aftermarket coolers.
Colton Jones
>12 core 24 thread at 4.2GHz You mean 5 Ghz, right?
That's ok, that was a few months back, so you've taken advantage of it for months.
Regardless, with AMD you can just swap CPUs cheaply without worrying about changing mobo.
Matthew Gutierrez
Demo shown at CES got the same score on Cinebench as 9900k(elvin) while running at only 65W, stock settings. the 95W version will score even higher and might overclock like a champ but we don't know right now. AMD will show off their new lineup at computex in a few days time.
>TL;Dr Zen2 looks like a hell of a CPU, don't miss out
James Hernandez
computex will only show thei lineup, maybe a paperlaunch too. wide availablity gonna be 7th July
Jack Adams
okay you fucking faggots i wanna build a gaymen pc whats the absolute best day to pick parts i can wait some weeks cuz ill have mo money for my gaymen pc but if i ask again that day and you faggots say w8 again ill fooking kill u
haha what would happen if i pinched her tongue? do you think she'd beat me up? haha just for fun, not seriously.
Jaxson Lewis
>Nice. Will wait though till everything is clearly known. best thing you can do. I do hope that techniggers on YouTube will have benchmarks very soon, before 7th July
Austin Russell
She'd probably spit in your mouth and THEN beat you up.
I don't think zen+ based APUs are going to have more than 4 cores.
Sebastian Roberts
You want to play Just Wait™? Rumors are coming out Zen 3 will have 4 threads per core and support ddr5. Getting Zen 2 will be like getting Nehalem when you know Sandy Bridge is coming out next year.
The APUs has always been lmao They didn't skip Zen+ on mobile, so I doubt they're going to skip on desktop. These APUs are pure fantasy, but they WILL happen next year and they're going to be amazing.
Kevin Campbell
I don't think it would be that amazing of a jump. If it gets stacked DRAM on top though, then we're talking.
Joseph Lewis
fucking read before you post, nigglet
Ryan Cook
Calm down user, I was just talking about the image. I never quoted you for anything.
Xavier Perry
You will want another HSF to keep the noise down. Recommend the Noctua AM4 ones.
David Ramirez
There was the patent for stacked dram too. The separation between desktop cpu and SoC is getting blurry. How long before pci-e is a bottleneck for your boot disk?
Levi Rogers
Bought pic related for just 40 yuros, it just werks. It's the am4 version
Zen is already kind of like a SoC, it's pretty good desu. Stacked DRAM + GPU + HBM2 is going to be amazing. I could see myself buying one of those when the cores are capped and the GPU is good for high refresh, high resolution VR.
depends on what they're aiming for but the TDP HAS the to be very fucking low
Ian Peterson
she's got a penis. rough guess
Angel Scott
>not quiet underload yea if you're in a fucking anti vibration sound room If you have a normal fucking room like a quiet office you won't hear shit.
Tyler Collins
>JULY 7TH IS THIS REAL? I GOTTA WAIT ANOTHER MONTH THEY SAID IT'D BE BEGINNING OF MAY.. IN DECEMBER REEEEE
Kayden Brooks
OP here
i dont stay in the loop on this shit, didnt know they were about to release a new gen of cpus... may wait.. but i need to have this bitch before august
Colton Thompson
Don't get the 1000 series. If you get any now get the 2600x (to match the 1800x price) or 2700x if you have more money
I'd personally wait for 3700 or 3700x or even better, if you want.
Logan Jackson
because they didn't know what they were talking about
AMD literally confirmed it's almost here
Nolan Lee
Will his navi info turn out to be 50% correct too?
also will there be a need to change moboard or will the zen 2 use same AM4 socket
Jordan Hernandez
>almost date or bust almost doesn't mean anything
Cameron Ward
AM4 socket is compatible, I think you need X370 chipset or any 400 chipset (B450, X470 etc) for it to work and a bios update.
Ethan Butler
AM4 socket is good until next year.
Kayden Cruz
zen 2 will and zen 3 probably will too
Angel Harris
Based nonsense poster. >wanting a better cpu is being a consumerist and a bugman Nigga, you need help.
Tyler Stewart
Got a new rig 8 months ago. Went with rtx2080 and 2600. Will upgrade to 12 core ryzen 3700. No need to get a pc now unless absolutely necessery. Get s used 1600 for 80-100 burgers if you really need something now.
