Rice is excellent compact carbs that can be cooked in minimal water, but lacks other nutrients for long term survival. Great for short term, horrible for long term without supplemental foods.

They are incredibly efficient to grow in terms of required inputs, and time. They also have a long shelf-life, even when not treated or refrigerated. They can grow on land that is not useful for anything else. They're a real benefit to humanity

Honestly if you drink any kind of soda at all, one chunk of meat a week is enough to get the full spectrum of amino acids. You get your citric acid from the soda and the rest of your amino acids come from the protein complete meat you ate for the week.

You have 3 main categories
- cereal goo with some artificial sweeteners and vitamins, like Onions and Feed
- Bio and vegan shit usually dried fruit, nuts, cereal and seeds. Better but no standard nutritional values.
- A mix of the above like Vitaline and Pulve.

All in all I expect powdered meals to increase your chances of getting some kind of gut disease.
