Do you still use a CRT? Be honest now

Do you still use a CRT? Be honest now.

No. They're stupid.

yeah I have one I use for my windows 98 machine

i have one but i hardly use it due to the fact I can never get a proper resolution for it. I honestly don't know how people say "you can use any resolution on CRTs" you really can't...

Only as a TV but I never watch TV.

used one but got a 240hz gaming monitor, witch actually refreshes quicker, still have the CRT laying around incase i wanna watch vaporwave stock footage while smoking some dope as shit yo

420 WEEEEEEEEED XD amirite?

Not since 2006

I have several of them, but don't really use them. I have one on my desk though for retro games that don't support higher resolutions without looking like ass.

Stupid

Yeah but I hardly ever use it for anything past old VHS tapes and playing PS2/SNES games

no but i want to

have sex

Why?!

When my last one broke and I went to the store, they weren't selling them anymore.

No, but I wish I did.

No. Their constant buzzing is really annoying.

yeah i still have a crt tv that i play
darkstalkers
on once a week.

Good ones don't buzz

CRT fetishism is pure nostalgia and nothing else.
/vr/ is probably part of an elaborate scheme to squeeze even more money out of old CRTs.

Why

What do you think about the Sony KV-32FS13 and KV-32FS100 for retro gaming (particularly hooking it up to a computer through S-Video or Component) for emulation?

Is the KV-FS100 worth paying more for? What do you think these are worth?

Only on a really really old computer.

bend over

Wish, cant find them under 40 dollars, no matter where I go.

I'm using one currently because my old monitor died and i'm too broke to buy a new one.

It's not that bad.

only when I browse BLACKED porn

Yes. I play exactly two games and both were made before 2005

what games? don't leave us wondering

Yes they are essential for retro video games.

>Do you still use a CRT? Be honest now.
of course, because all my old computers and consoles built back in the '70s/'80s/'90s look like fucking garbage on any LCD. and no, I'm not going to ruin my old consoles and systems with extremely homosexual rgbi/hdmi mods or analogue converters. that shit is for useless faggots.

>KV-FS100
they're pretty good. i wouldn't pay much for one at all. anything over $100 for that old stuff is not worth it. even for $100, it'd have to be in mint condition. i still remember people throwing them out into the streets and rubbish around a decade ago, so just be aware of price gouging faggots.

You gotta love people who complain games "don't look as good as they used to!!1" on modern displays, so they go out and buy PVMs, which they almost certainly aren't like the CRTs they actually had in their homes years ago.

That's right, they're SUPERIOR to the CRTs we would have had back in the day.
People also mod their consoles to output RGB, so they can avoid using shitty composite video. We want the BEST image possible, and you need a CRT to do that for old games.

An emulator on a 4K monitor with a good shader looks much better. :^)

y-you wanna watch, user-kun?

LMAO

no but i'd use it if that's all i had. i don't really remember them being all that bad, i used one clear into like 2010, i think, then around 2011 i had a square lcd, and by 2012 i think i finally had a real 16:9 widescreen monitor.

currently on a 27" 1440p 144hz ips screen though, and even though it doesn't feel "big" any time i leave it for a long time then come back to it i'm like holy shit that's a lot of screen.

I do as a tv/VCR combo. It is on my closed in porch area of my house. I keep the lights on but it is to make me look poor and not worth stealing from. Kinda funny though as friends come over and play emulation games from the pi on it. I'd wake up to people playing goldeneye or a ninja turtles at 3 am with like 8 people just hanging out on the porch.

On occasion, but not as my main display anymore.
You can use any resolution that it was designed for.

I WANT A SONY TRINITRON PC MONITOR SO FUCKING BAD
>imagine the super fast refresh rate and analog latency
>imagine the super color accuracy and vibrancy
>imagine that hunk of aesthetic geometry sitting on your desk
FUUUUUUUUUCK

I've been using one since my monitor died last year

i have a cut lil sony, but it's got a burn mark in the middle of the screen that annoys me
