Because, I'm shitposting from a 20+ year old 486.

>no mobo shields or RGB
fucking keep your boomer shit grandpa

im poor

Rich fag I'm shitposting from a 25 year old 386sx + maths Co processor

I don't want to drop 5k for a core2duo tier shitposting box.

Requires addon cards with firmware blobs for features like 4K video, somewhat defeating the point of an open system.

Lmao phones and tiny arm socs can do that shit
What the fuck is ppc doing? No wonder everyone dumped this shit in late 00s

you mean
"a gpu"
buy AMD.

Raptor can add things like SATA and USB 3 to the mobo if they wish. Problem is when you do this, you're installing lots of little third party coprocessors into your open computing platform.

imagine shilling so hard against a non-product that you actually have to make shit up.
It already has PCIe 4.0, SATA 6gbps, and USB 3.
It costs $1200.
The performance is comparable against new x86 releases.

Yes, it is $1200 for a mobo with no sata ports and 3 usb ports excluding a header. It's also got 2 PCI-E slots so you're out of room once you've installed your nonfree sata/sas card and radeon.

Oh, they've got a new model out.

Same reason im not posting from the starship enterprise.......it does exist yet, also election polls are in, landslide victory for "you're a giant faggot"

>He bought the worthless co-processor

I bet you don't even have a color super vga 13" monitor you epic pleb

Cool. Can I use a GeForce with it?

Nvidia has drivers for it but I think they're just for compute.
I once tried using my old Kepler card in it but the Linux-based firmware crashed when loading the nouveau driver (POWER9 uses a 64k page size by default and the nouveau driver doesn't support it)

Can you run firefox on it?

Yes, though currently without JIT so some pages load slow. However ungoogled Chromium works with full JIT support.

because oracle abandoned polaris ages ago

Because the cpu is not the most BASED and REDPILLED - not Ryzen 3 2300X

Ah right. So my FX-4300 is faster for most of my tasks.

Also, how is the noise? Tell me that 8 cm looking hsf isn't spinning its guts out 24/7 with no throttling.

God I wish modern consumer motherboards had boring and utilitarian pcbs and bioses again.

AMD's open source driver still requires a binary blob.

Broadcom NICs. Really???
I have nothing but trouble with Broadcom hardware.

Call me when good risc-v cpus are cheap.

See you in the afterlife.

14 nm 4 core is $375. The issue is mainboard cost and code optimization.

Neither are you.

OMG that's cute. They have a physical PCIe x8 slot.

Because I like having 16 cores for compiling

They said that Realtek was extra trash, and Intel is known for being hostile towards open source so it was naturally to be avoided.

You may as well cut your landline because it's never gonna get used.
