The minimal option doesn't have a DE. So you can put w/e you like, xfce, openbox, i3, etc..

Just remove the garbage in it like apport, avahi, whoopsie, software center, bluetooth, etc. and replace the kernel with linux-libre and use open source drivers for graphics and wifi.

Because linux in general became the most gayest politically correct OS sometime within the last year or two. Keep politics out of our OS. I no longer use mint but I'm liking Haiku. Still needs some work but it's getting there.

This happened to me. I'm done fucking with linux. I need an OS that just works so i can focus on my work instead of messing with the OS trying to fix it every few years after i get comfy with it.

I tried it but I kind of seem to like kubuntu and kde neon more. Even though mint kde is basically the same but looks cuter out of the box and has a better name.
