The reason GIMP is so highly criticized is not because it’s a bad programme, it’s because it still, after decades of development, falls far short of matching the proprietary industry standard Photoshop which maintains an infuriatingly stubborn monopoly. Compounding the frustration is the fact that Adobe is a criminally detestable company whom most would otherwise wish to avoid, were it not for their flagship application remaining peerless. Photoshop really remains the only one of the entire Creative Suite without a better/viable cheaper/freeware/foss alternative - if only GIMP could become something worth more than its $0 RRP and we might just be able to flush the whole Creative Cloud down the toilet and never have to think of Adobe again. Please tell me how one could help!

No, it's the opposite, gimp is way more intuitive than photoshit, just look at the icons at the left, on gimp every icon is shown on the screen and you can easily see where each tool is, photoshit on the other hand hides most of the tools inside on other icons and you're supposed to right click every other icon until you find which one has the tool you want. Talk about retarded design.

gimp isn't meant for drawing, if you want to draw using krita.

Be cool when Blender Foundation integrates a full blown image compositor, honestly with the progress they've made I could see it happening. With shit like Grease Pencil getting as advanced as it is, and with the rendering and compositing suite as matured as they are I could foresee it. Maybe they can get some of the principal developers of GIMP to give them a hand. Doing that level of work in a single application would definitely BTFO just about everything.
