Brains don't work that way. Our bodies are essentially modular. If you have connected nerves you'll learn to interpret their output. The reasons babies are so stupid is because they are figuring out how to make their brain deal with all their sensory info, and to control their body. Our nervous system is very similar to every other animals, the big difference is body shape and brain shape. Brain shape doesn't change whether you can get certain info, it just changes how efficiently you can solve certain problems.
