Windows 10 Home can be installed for free legally. Use Microsoft's Media Creation Tool and use it on a USB drive. Plug it into your PC, change boot order to USB, and follow the installation instructions. When an activation code is requested, you can skip that step. Your install can be used indefinitely, with the only drawback being a small watermark as seen in the attached picture. I'm trying to figure out how to get rid of that at the moment.

Do you even need to activate it? The only inconvenient I find is the "Activate Windows" watermark and I rarely notice it.

Ah that's what you meant. Open notepad or some other text editor and enter the following commands.

Then save the file as .bat and save as type: all files. Run as administrator and restart your computer. I just tried this and it worked.

Another solution is to edit the registry if that's less fishy to you. Open the Registry Editor and go down this file path: Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop

Then find the REG_DWORD called PaintDesktopVersion and change the value to 0. Then restart your computer. Not sure if this will work though as the value was already 0 on my machine and I still had the watermark.

you can install 7, validate it with daz, update to 10 with the windows tool and once updated do a fresh install, this should get you a hardware based licence, or it used to, I haven't tried in a while

only kms, check might aswell use it for windows too because it's less botnet and doesn't need network
