>Me: "uhh uhhh" -loads up Gimp and realize what he is asking needs photoshop
>Boss: "Well?"
>Me: "wait for my v'virtual machine to load so I can load up photoshop"
>Boss: "Virtual-whoosits? Just load up Photoshop! What do I pay you for?"
>Me: "I'I got it" -no shortcut keys work because of VM shortcut key mappings making Photoshop 100x harder to use

Yeah imagine moving out of your parents house.

There is literally nothing good about using Gimp in comparison to Photoshop. The comparative advantage is so night and day it's sickening. They may be terrible with their licensing policy, but at least their product works really really well.

Take for example cmyk values show up in Photoshop, which is an absolute requirement if you're going to do any print anything. Let alone the usage of Illustrator and InDesign which are totally different programs that are best for vector-based printing tools that again, Gimp just doesn't hold a candle to. Modern cameras use .RAW file formats and Gimp can't even read that shit let alone edit it properly.

find a better job user, and learn to use gimp

>at workplace that involves art media
>implying factory working conditions

Lol stfu shill

This story just shows me that you have never worked a single minute in your life. The fact alone that you think that this scene could play out in a real office is so sad, you should just take a rope.

photoshop works flawlessly on linux
if you said illustrator it'd be slightly understandable, other than the fact a VM takes 3 seconds to boot.

most distros take 1/10th the time to setup than windows does to install

Windows installs in like six minutes if you don't have a durdenstation. Last time I installed a Linux (some Ubuntu, IIRC), it repeatedly hung at the "partition your drive" window and I had to restart it about four times before it would install.

don't you mean ~/Pictures/proprietary/cringe/

you do not belong on this website

your ex on the left
your gf on the right

why were you even considering using GIMP if your job involves doing any print work whatsoever

>At work
>Load up Windows machine
>IT set it up and maintains it
>Do literally nothing that involves the actual operating system

>At home
>Load up GNU/Linux machine
>I set it up and maintain it
>Do literally nothing but interfacing with the actual operating system
