the best thing i did was sell my sr009, don't fall for the meme people

Are these the most cringe generals on the board? I think so.

nostax incel making up stories again

Here is a pic of when I used to have my 009s.

This is what i'm actually using now, I actually enjoy music far more on the Clears and HE-500 than I ever did with the 009s.

Can someone post the STAX copypasta? Need to shut these faggots up asap before they trick some idiot who falls for Jow Forums memes into buying their overpriced, trash headphones.

Nonremovable cable is the only real downside

So you literally made this thread just to post stax? might as well create a board dedicated for stax

can mods ban this faggot?

how do these look?
bought them from my local boutique shop... normally $999 but I snatched them for $700. so far they definitely make everything feel a bit more velvety, a fine veneer baked into the music that makes it come alive...

I'm looking for new gaming headphones, i need them to be closed, comfy and isolate as much noise as possible, my budget is $600

So now I know what kind of a faggot you are

topkek I've never seen anyone on Jow Forums get so triggered over shit they cant afford before until GLORIOUS STAX became known.

How long do you tell yourselves in the mirror your plebphones are near the ograsmic audio fidelity of STAX each morning? Do you notice how your eyes are telling you you're wrong?

Do your soul at least one favor in life

Buy Stax

I was the poster above that used to own 009s

Yes by a very large margin
They look like they cost 15$ to manufacture.
I shit you not I could make better looking cables for 20$.

Redpill on STAX for newbies: STAX is an old Jap company with outdated tech that was considered high end back in the 1960s and 1970s but sounds like ass by today's standards, so they went nearly bankrupt.

They were purchased by a Chinese company for just a million dollars who decided to market STAX to the audiophool "more expensive is better" demographic who buys those crappy $3000 vinyl players, they shill heavily on HeadFi and here on /hpg/. They also leveraged STAX's prior Japanese identity to market it to weebs, using Youtubers like Zeos.

>In December 2011, Chinese loudspeaker manufacturer Edifier announced the acquisition of 100% equity in Stax

Oratory has measured the highest end STAX, the SR-009S.

dropbox.com/s/61srehjyaltd7w0/Stax SR-009S.pdf?dl=0

dropbox.com/s/dm0m6u3s3b4zqzl/Sennheiser HD600.pdf?dl=0

It's worse than the HD600. HD600 scored 92 and SR-009S scored 76.

Recently Rtings rated STAX across various dimension, it's worse in terms of sound than mid-priced offerings from Hifiman and Audeze, and only got a 7.7 rating.

In a separate study:

>The very highest end STAX ($4000 SR-009) was rated lower in blind tests than a $200 K701

To add insult to overpriced injury, they have shitty plastic build quality that you would expect on cheap chinkshit headphones:

Oratory (respected sound engineer) on the build:

i.imgur.com/Dru4gzZ.png

Even best Stax headphones sound objectively worse than mid-fi. This is why they don't demo them in store, they rely on the internet to create a sense of mystique around STAX and shill it as the endgame because its expensive, Asian, rare and obscure. In reality its no bass sounding garbage, Made in China snakeoil for the audiophool.

Should I buy STAX over Sennheiser?

Thoughts on the ER2SE?

Seems like Etymotic's best option given that it has superior bandwidth and lower distortion compared to its flagship.

Rin Choi says Stax in-ear are better than canalphones for several reasons:

Did you try 007? People universally hate 009

Hi guys! I'm looking to buy a pair of closed-back over-ear headphones and I figured you guys would be the ones to ask. I'm looking to spend under $300. I've been looking at the Meze 99 series of headphones; I particularly like the Neo and the reviews I've read for them have been favorable. I would also consider purchasing the 99 Classics if they are a superior product. I'll be driving them off of either my phone (a Nokia 7.1) or an iPod Classic. Any suggestions are appreciated; I would just like to note I'm looking to have a pair with removable cables. Thank you in advance!

Save up for Stax

You'll thank me later

No, I'm not really looking to spend that much on headphones. Thank you anyway!

If you could stretch it to $420, the Fostex TR-X00 from Drop are a good bet. If you could pass on the removable cables, I love my Beyerdynamic DT 770 and it's like half your budget. I've got nothing right in your wheelhouse but I'm bored and wanted to reply anyway. Hope you find something you like.

I'll look at the Fostex. And the removable cables are kind of a must, I live in a tiny apartment and travel around a good bit. Anything where I can pack them away and not mess up the cables is preferred.

where is the actuall good tier list? I need to buy new headphones

budget?

around 500 bucks AUD

Looking to get an ANC pair at the

If you are after open headphones for use strictly at home a used pair of Hifiman He-500 would be your best bet and can be had in your pricepoint. If you want something avaliable now stretch your budget for Hifiman Sundara. If this isnt an option just get a pair of HD6XX.

HD 6XX + Khadas Tone Board + JDS Atom should be almost exactly $500AUD

fuck it's actually $611 not counting postage RIP

Save up for Stax

you should be spending $600 just on opamps

you should be spending $600 just on rhodium plated connectors

lmfao fuck off cunt

there's two amps worth buying in the world right now, JDS Atom for $100USD or Massdrop 789 (which you can't actually buy rn) for $350 if you need bullshit crazy power.

everything else in every price point has been completely trashed by these two amps.

imagine actually believing this

No thanks. I enjoy not living like a disgusting gook.

you sound like a roasty getting mad at men for dating young women except you're mad everyone else didn't drop 1K on a bad amp like you did :^)

haven't heard the 007 but ive owned higher end lambdas and the 009s... they aren't for me

Lol nice ribbon cable headphones you absolute fucking virgin

this thread is literally four people trolling each other

cope harder poorfag, >>/csg/

Do we have a new shitposter ?
Welcome to the dumpster fire lad
This pretty much. And there's the occasional request

It's a problem because some people come to these threads looking for genuine advice on headphone recommendations, and staxshitters tell them to buy $3000 headphones that don't sound any better than what you could get in the $400 range.

How are you liking the chifiman? I really like my 007 so far but it sounds too sterile.

Buy Stax

I live in Japan, but I'm a 34 year old white guy. How do I experience this?

Attached: dynamic range.png (501x294, 13K)

Great wire does sound different. George Cardas is known throughout the high end audio industry for making and designing a superb line of interconnects and cables. If (you) cannot hear the difference -- OK. Fair enough. I didn't know what great art was until I became educated in knowing what to look for. But the more that (you) listen to excellent audio gear the more you will advance to a level of greater understanding; greater enlightenment. Bottom line -- Trust your ears and listen to the music. PS -- cable design is based on physics and George Cardas (Cardas Audio), Ray Kimber (Kimber Kable), Caelin Gabriel (Shunyata Research), and Joe Kubala (Kubala Sosna) are all gifted artists and geniuses.

I love pasta.

What do yall recommend for plugging in my headphones, a sound card or an amplifier(or both)? If you are going to answer to this please recommend a product

buy stax 3100

I tried some stax recently and my main comments are:
Bass is shit
Soprano/contralto/upper end vocals are decent
Instruments depend
Overall they have a great level of soundstage though. It really helps with immersion. If it wasn't for the added costs involved with electrostatic shit, they would have no peer in this range. However, sadly, you do have to care about the extra equipment price, and as such even Sennheiser HD 700's have them beat on both sound and soundstage.
You can get superior sound to stax for well under half the money, the soundstage is harder but is doable (with superior sound as well)

>Sennheiser HD 700's

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
good one faggot

I don't own nor shill stax but you're talking about a failed product that sounds like balls and sells for less than the HD 600
